I stumbled clumsily through the woods, my stomach growling louder. It wasn't like I would turn back around, but it would be nice for something to eat. Hmm... A cheese burger, pizza, chocolate...
I tripped over my feet, snapping out of my day dream. It's been only two days since I ran away; two days since I had anything to eat. I pushed forward, not wanting to go back. Afterall, there's nothing left for me back there.
Two days earlier...
I looked up, my ceiling covered with home made lanterns. Through the thin walls you could here yelling, and it was esclating quickly. My brother slammed his door, my mom yelling at the door. I sighed, creeping towards my door. She caught me and spun on me, her eyes enraged. "And you. Get off your ass and start participating in life!" She screamed. I winced before going up and hugged her. "Mom please, he didn't mean it." I whispered. She shoved me off, her glare cutting.
"GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!" She shouted, pointing at the door. I was shocked. "Mom, please-" I couldn't finish before she charged at me. "GO!" She shouted, tears in her eyes. I open my mouth but closed it, silently giving her a hug before going to the door. I started to the woods, looking back every other minute.
There's no way I could go to my friends houses. Nothing against them, but their parents wouldn't let me stay. I gulped, stopping at the start of the woods. I could hide in the woods until the fight clears out. It's probably my best option, considering I know the woods too well. After all, I spent most of childhood exploring them.
I rushed in, quickly making my way through the thick branches. The smell of pine filled my nose as I rush deeper into the evergreens, leaving behind the smell of smoke and cigarettes. I kept looking behind me, expecting... I'm not sure what I was expecting. I just kept running until I was out of breath.
In the middle of a dark forest, the sun was almost down. My mom hates me, my brother doesn't know what's going on. I wanted to break down and cry my heart out. My breathing came out heavy, and I just wanted my bed. My house. My mom. I turn to look in the direction I came from, but second guessed it.
Which way did I come from? I spun around, trying to remember. I sighed, giving up. I wouldn't go back anyways. I couldn't with my mom like that. I scampered up a tree, making a safe place to sleep. It'll be tiring in the morning.
Back in the present...
I sighed, making my way into a clearing. It must be far from my house since I don't remember ever being in there. It was beautiful, the long grass seemed to wave at me, revealing hidden flowers. I smiled softly, the beauty taking the edge off the throbbing home sick feeling in my gut. Maybe a part of that was hunger.
I wondered into the middle of it, sitting in a ring of flowers. I picked one, then another, starting a flower crown. Pink, red, and purple flowers seemed to bloom as I pick them.
"I never thought I'd see a human here." A deep voice rumbled. I flinched and looked across the clearing, seeing a figure start walking towards me. I stand up abruptly, fear seizing me. I put my hands up, shaking. "Please, I meant no harm in coming here! I just wanted a place to think." I shouted. He chuckled.
I blinked in surprised. The man had huge black bat wings trailing behind him, along with horns sprouted from his head. I tripped falling on the ground as the dark figured chuckled lightly. "I'm not here to hurt you, trust me. I-I know it's weird that... I'm not human, but please listen." He tried. I shivered. "How... Why should trust you?!" I shouted.
He sighed, slowing his approach. "Okay, let's start slow. My name is Feen." He said lightly. I hesitated, but nodded. "Hi. I'm ------, but call me Sinister." I said. He grins. "Sinister? What a funny name." He smiles. I shake my head. "What are you?" I asked. His smile disappeared. "Now that's a longer story." He said. I sighed. "I've got all day." I muttered.
He sighed. "Well, for me to answer that, you need to follow me. But I doubt you want to do that, do you?" He asked. I shook my head. "Not at this point and time. Okay, what do you want with me?" I asked, stopped crawling backwards. He stopped, his stormy eyes shinning.
"I'm here to rescue you." He muttered and offered a hand.
