Chapter 10

Skyler's Pov:

I was so interested in this case because Jasmyn and I were best friends and always will be best friends. She was there for me while I was giving birth to Zach. Daniel and she are actually Zach’s Godparents.

Jasmyn was this ball of light, of pure positivity. She was always open-minded and seen the world in a different light. She was always laughing, and when she wasn't, something was truly bugging her.

Looking down at the files in my hand, not letting my emotions get to me. See, the difference between her and I was she wasn't afraid to show her emotions, me? I'm the type of person to smile even though I was falling apart.

My eyes skim over a few lines, and the pieces slowly start to come together. Jasmyn didn't know Jack like we all did, she obviously would just let him in… But there were no signs of a break in. The only thing that looked broken into was the bathroom door being off its hinges a bit.

I pick up the files and skim through pages taking up small less “important details” and head over to the hotel after putting my badge around my neck.

“Jasmyn, I know your listening and I will. Mark my words, I will find out whoever did this to you.”

Jasmyn’s Pov:

I’ve been watching all of this. Watching it all unfold. Watching it be discovered.

It pains me that I can’t do anything to help. It pains me that this happens. I know who did it.

I wish there was some way that I could tell but I can’t.

I can’t do anything. All I can do is sit here and watch. Watch over everything.

I know that Daniel took up the case. And so did Skyler. I know who’s going to solve it.

Just keep this in mind, things aren't always what they seem.
