"Thank god you're here." Alexander said as Mulligan walked in.
"Something happen?" Hercules replied as he placed the cat bed down.
"Yeah actually Jefferson came in and- why is it so small?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why is the cat bed so small? It could barely fit a child let alone John."
"He'll fit fine when he shifts."
"... When he what?"
"Seriously? You've never seen a neko shift into a cat."
Silence.
"Not even Laf?"
More silence.
"Oh boy you're in for a treat when that happens. Anyways if you're concerned it's too small I have a larger one in the car for when they don't shift."
"Please get that one. Please get it now before my boss comes in or Jefferson tells everyone I'm evil for not getting him a bed."
"I'm going, I'm going. Don't need to tell me twice."

John was happily curled up in the cat bed when Adams walked in, he seemed to look at the sleeping body with disgust before turning to face Hamilton's back.

"Change of heart when it comes go nekos then?"
"John isn't a pet, he's a friend I'm helping out. I'm still advocating for their rights to be totally free and not considered pets."
"Well having him around doesn't make it look like that."
"But Laf does for Herc?!"
"That's different."
"How?! Just because they kiss and hold hands?! Jefferson does the same to Sally Hemmings when heat comes around and he only sees her as a pet."
"You would disrespect not only a fellow founder of an organisation we helped create but also your friend."
"I'm just pointing out that if I'm considered John's owner - when I'm not - just for having him near me and wanting to help him, then how does Herc not get the same thing?"
"Calm down Alexander, I merely wanted to express my concerns."
"More like your accusations."
"Hamilton, don't-"
"Lexi?" John threw them both off guard when he woke up, rubbing his eyes. "Who's this?"
"I'll leave you alone, Hamilton."
