We rushed outside just as Felix threw Jack's mom across the courtyard.

"MOM!!!" Jack yelled as he ran off to try and make sure Felix didn't get to her. I took my chance to rush to her aid as she started to get up.

"Blake!" I yelled. "Are you alright???"

She looked up startled to see me and her eyes widened even more as she saw Jack dodge a throw from Felix. "I'm fine but you two need to get out of here! It's not safe."

"We're not going anywhere. We came to help and that's what we plan to do now tell me what we have to do."

"We need to drain Felix's magic enough, so he has no choice but to return back to Arith."

I smirked at her as I said, "I think we can do that."

I looked over to Jack to see if there was an opening, so I could try to attack Felix. They were both moving so fast that it was hard to see an opening. Jack threw punch after punch and even tried to freeze Felix a few times but that never lasted long. Felix was an excellent opponent and they both were equally matched.

Before we had left the room, I had grabbed a sword, a bow, and a quiver full of arrows. But I need to decide which to use right now, as soon as possible before something bad happens to Jack. I reached for the bow and for an arrow. While notching it I turn my head to Blake and say, "I need help getting an opening. I need you to help Jack."

She nods and takes off to help Jack. Blake attacks Felix from behind but it seemed that he expected her advance. He was able to dodge her attack, but it was followed by blow to the face from Jack. That caused him to stumble before regaining his composure, but it was obvious that he was about to lose it.

"Is that the best you got Jackson???" Felix asks. I could tell that he was trying to rile Jack up, but Jack's always been good at being calm when it comes to serious matters.

"Save your breath for Peter!" Jack snarled as his hands started to glow. They soon were on fire and it was like he didn't feel the heat or anything. Felix smirked at him and made the first move which was to try and electrocute Jack. Jack was able to dodge it and throw a ball of fire right at Felix which missed him. Felix's clothes were now singed a bit from the fireball, but it didn't seem to faze him.

Jack! I need an opening! I think to him loudly.

Working on it!

Well work faster!

With that said, Jack started to try and create openings, but nothing was working. As Jack tried to help it seemed Felix expected his every move before he even made it. Since they couldn't make any openings then I'd have to make one myself. I unnotched the arrow and took off the quiver before throwing them to the side. I unsheathed my sword as I made my way over to them, trying to prepare myself mentally before I challenged Felix.

"You done playing yet Felix???"

"So now you decide to come and play with the big kids," Felix says as he looks over to me, "took you long enough."

"Anya! What are you doing?!?!" Jack screams at me.

"Finishing my fight."

I'm going to create an opening for you and your mom. Don't mess this up. I see him give a small nod out of the corner of my eye.

"This is between you and me, Felix."

"I think this is the first time we've agreed on something. Shall we start?"

"I think we shall," I say as I charge forward.

My sword clashes with his that had remained its sheath until now. I had no idea what I was doing but whatever it was it seemed like it was working. We circled each other, dodging the others attempt at a blow. Felix was very skilled with a sword, but I couldn't spend too much time admiring it. Every time I did stare too long he noticed and I ended up with another wound.

"Why can't you join me and your brother like a good little girl? It'd make things so much easier!" Felix asked exasperatedly. He was starting to lose his patience as our fight continued.

"And why can't you guys leave me alone? I've done nothing, and I didn't ask for any of this!"

"Oh, grow up and accept your fate! Join me and your brother and help spare these people," he says while gesturing to Jack and Blake. With that simple movement he created a small opening and I saw Jack draw the string back and let that arrow loose. It felt like everything started to move in slow motion as the arrow grew closer to its target. Just as it was about to make its mark Felix moved his hand up to try and catch it, but he did not move fast enough. The arrow was now sticking out of both sides of his hand. All I could do was stare in shock as I saw him grab his hand and screech in agony.

"Anya! Move!" I heard Jack yell and that is what snapped me out of my daze. Once I had snapped out of it I started sprinting for Jack and Blake. But Felix noticed and lunged for me, grabbing a hold of the collar of my shirt, keeping me from getting away.

"Let me go!" I shrieked in terror as I tried to get free and to be able to get to Jack.

"Let her go Felix!" Jack shouted while drawing back another arrow. As he did that Felix pulled me to him as if he was using me as a shield.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you Jackson," he sneered. "If you do that then you'll be putting your precious Anastasia's life in danger."

"Jack just shoot him!" I yell at him. There's no way he'll risk my life, but I have to try and get him to take the shot.

Jack! Please just take the shot! I'll be fine! Shoot him!

No! I refuse to put your life at risk. There has to be another way.

Either you shoot him, or he'll take me back to Arith. Now take the freaking shot! I could see the worry in his face as he tried to look for an opening. When Felix's grip started to loosen as started he started to realize that Jack was going to take the shot. Once his grip was loose enough I was able to break free from his grasp and run as Jack released and let the arrow fly.

I didn't look back at Felix until after I had made it safely into Jack's arms. When I did look back I saw that Felix was gone and all that remained was the pieces of what used to be an arrow.
