**Poornima is wearing the outfit above. Just imagine it on a twelve-year-old.**
"Here you'll need this" Uncle Sev handed me a pair of spectacles.
I need up to him in confusion "But why?" I asked.
"Because I told you so." He said curtly.
"My eyesight isn't bad," I said quickly.Thank Merlin my eyesight was good. Not that I had anything against people with spectacles, I just can't bear the idea of wearing a piece of eyewear constantly.
He sighed and looked up then back at me. His obsidian eyes giving away nothing.
"You know that I care for you don't you dear?" He said gently.
I nodded. Of course, he cared for me. I am so lucky to have such caring people in my life. I thank God for it every day.
"Then please listen to me Poornima. It's for your own good."
I've heard this sentence so many times from so many people and each time the outcome has been good. So I quietly accepted the pair of glasses and looked at him.
"Will you tell me when I'm older?" I asked him. He smiled softly and stroked my hair.
"I promise," he said.
Both of us were silent, taking in the moment. Uncle Sev was quite caring and nice but he rarely gave me affectionate pats and hugs, but I treasured each one he gave me. Our comfortable silence was broken by Kanak's call.
We went out of our house and walked through the muggle houses. For wizard's, our house would look just like any other muggle house in Spinner's End, but for muggles, our house would look as if there had been some sort of terrorist attack on it. Of someone would come too near for our liking they would simply turn the other way (Something to with the protective enchantments Uncle Sev put up.)
When we reached the main road Uncle Sev stuck his right arm out. What is he doing?
BANG!!
I would have toppled over if Uncle Sev wouldn't have straightened me with his wand.A triple-decker, violently coloured purple bus, had appeared out of thin air and stood right in front of us. It has huge wheels and written on its windshield with gold lettering is 'The Knight Bus.'
A man-boy - in purple uniform leapt out of it and opened his mouth but Uncle Sev beat him to it.
"Yes, we know and we don't care. Wiltshire. Severus Snape and Poornima Raichand" he gestured to himself and then at me."That would be a gallon and 3 sickles." The conductor grumbled.
Uncle Sev handed him the coins and we sat on a seat. There were two old witches. One of them wore the weirdest that I've ever seen. I practically had a vulture on it!
A young couple was giggling at the end. I swear I've seen the boy with some other girl in Hogwarts though."Hold on" Uncle Sev warned.
I held on to my seat.
BANG!
Thank God I listened to him.
"This is the knight bus,"Uncle Sev said when I looked up to him for an explanation. " if you stick your wand hand this bus appears in a few seconds and then you can go wherever you want to go. As long as it's on land." His face turned sour. "Though there are some other modes of transportation that are not so expensive and much more bearable."
"Then why are we going on this bus," I asked.
I knew we could apparate but other modes??
"Because the place we are going isn't connected by floo and we won't be able to apparate there either."
He said dismissively.
