Blink once

Blink once,

Peace vanishes.

Battle ensues,

Until blood soaks all but one wall.

I can't breath,

The air is thick with decay.

Bile fills my mouth,

When I see corpses fill the hall.

-----

Blink again,

It's all gone.

I no longer sit on a throne of death,

Simply a leather couch.

I greet my family silently,

Moving for sustenance.

But as I sit to eat,

I am mocked for the way I slouch.

-------

It's the same everyday,

Blood, pain and horror.

The deaths of everyone I love,

Burning into my mind.

Then peace,

The nightmare I witnessed,

Forcing me to let go of the ability,

To be cruel or kind.
