Laurens stared directly into Alex's eyes as he leaned forward. Soon enough, he felt his hot and ridged breath on his lips. Making a bold a and quick movement, Laurens leaned forward and connected their lips. He slowly closed his eyes as he felt Alex tense up from the situation as a realization of what exactly he did. Slowly, Laurens reached his hand up and placed his palm of his rugged hand on Alex's cheek. He slowly shut his eyes as he lightly moved his thumb, stroking Alex's cheek slightly. 'He's married, you idiot!' Laurens ignored this thought until now, his eyes opening and widing. Not at the fact of he was kissing his best friend, but at the point of he was allowing it and actually enjoying it.

Alexander didn't move back from the kiss; Instead, he closed his eyes and allowed it to happen. He felt John's hand caressing his cheek and rubbing it with his thumb. He smiled gently as he inched forward, feeling himself give into him. He took a bold move as he started to kiss him back, wanting this moment to last forever; Eliza didn't matter at this point. In fact, he never loved her in the first place. However, his mind did remind him of one thing; Philip.

Laurens broke the kiss, putting his hands on Alexander's shoulders to push himself away. "Uhm.." He stuttered nervously. He looked down at the floor. Alexander noticed this movement as he carefully took his thumb and brushed it over his cheek. "Hey. It's okay." He spoke softly. "That wasn't your fault." John hesitantly let this happen, meeting eye contact with Alex again. "Why...?" John spoke out against the silence, his voice shakey.

Alex looked a way for a second, a habit he had while he thought. "Well..." He paused. "I wanted to test the waters, I guess.." He let his hands rest on John's shoulders. "I think...I think I liked them." John shook his head at this comment. "You're MARRIED, Alex! You have a wife, and a child!" Alex pressed his forehead against John's in attempt to calm him. "I know, I know. I assure you, the marriage is only for public view and Philip." John closed his eyes as he thought about this. He then whispered. 'I don't want to be your toy, Alexander." Alex carefully moved strands of hair and tucked them behind his ear. "You won't, John. I promise."

John nodded once more, letting himself melt in his touch. "Okay." He smiled. "Okay." Alex smiled back at him as he kissed his cheek. "We have to keep this hidden. Who knows what might happen if people found out. Including Eliza." He sighed lightly as he pulled John closer to his body. "Speaking of which, I was supposed to invite you to join us for dinner tonight." Alex leaned over to whisper in his ear. "I promise I'll be right beside you the entire time." John teased up lightly. He hated the idea of keeping the whole thing hidden. He nodded anyway, standing to his feet.

"Let's go." He muttered, grabbing a coat and putting on his boots. "I'd love to meet your son." Alex smiled as he got up as well, walking over to John. "You won't regret it, my dearest Laurens." He gently grabbed his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. John nodded once more as he let go of his hand, heading out the door. I will not lose my nerve. He kept thinking. Alex followed him out the door, a small smile on his face.

John stopped. "I don't know where I'm going." Alex couldn't help but to laugh at this. "Allow me, then." Alex now walked in front, leading the way with John not too far behind. Finally, they reached the house. Alex climbed the steps of the porch, opening the door. As soon as he did, Philip came running and hugged his father's legs. "Daddy!"
(Note: Philip was about 10 at the time)

Alex bent down and picked him up, smiling. "Excited, aren't we?" He laughed as he turned around. "Pip, this is John. He's the one you wanted to meet so badly." John smiled softly at the small boy. He didn't have any features of his father, yet he still managed to make himself look adorable. His poofy hair definitely matched his face. "Hey little guy." He cooed with a soothing voice. Philip smiled widely. "Hi! Daddy talks about you a lot!"

John raised an eyebrow as he looked at Alex. "Nothing too bad, I hope." He smiled. Alex was about to reply when Eliza appeared in the doorway. "John. Its been awhile." Her voice dripped with sweetness as she approached him, giving him a gentle hug. "How have you been?" John returned the gesture. "I've been decent." He replied. "How have you been managing? Good, I hope." Eliza gave a simple nod of her head. "Quite well after Alex's return home. I missed him." She reached out and held Alex's free hand. John couldn't help to feel jealous. He forced a smile. "Well, I wasn't allowing him to die on my watch."

'This is going to be a long night.' John thought as he stepped into the house with Alex.
