"Alright, people, show's over," Jungkook clapped his hands when all the screaming faded away until only the static noises of the whips were left. Jennie still had her hand over her mouth, now to prevent her from gagging from the sight of the charred bodies.
Her view was cut off when the shorter, green haired raven shifter stepped in front of her with a comforting smile. "I'm sorry your first experience as a Shifter was very...unpleasant."
"That's the l-lightest way to put it," Jennie muttered, slightly shaking. "S-so... what happens now?"
Suran gestured to the other girls going inside the large van. "We'll be taking them to our facility to get them rest up and give them time to rejoin their communities if they want. There's a whole process."
"Wow," Jennie was impressed, "BTS really is a big organization huh?"
Suran chuckled lightly, "Yeah, something like that. If you don't have any place to go, you can come with us for the time being. Oh, what's your name?"
A place to go? Those words sounded so foreign and harsh to Jennie. But those words have become her reality, she realized.
"I'm Jennie, and umm," Jennie bit her lips in worry. Her new situation made her feel useless and abandoned, but she refused to believe that, not fully anyway. "I actually still have my stuff back at the hotel where I was... captured." There, she said it, the words bitter on her tongue. "I don't live in this country, so I guess I'll find my way back to New Zealand with my grandma."
"Out of the country?" Suran widened her eyes at the information and Jennie couldn't help but worry at the reaction. "You said you just presented, right?" Jennie nodded. "It still might be difficult but umm-"
"What do you mean by difficult?" Jennie cut her off in panic. "I presented once, I can control my shifting now, so I can still live as a human right? Some of the other girls probably can."
"Difficult as in, if the hotel hasn't put down a record for you yet."
Jennie swiveled around at the deep voice, seeing V joining the conversation. "What does that supposed to mean?"
"Being captured in any public place means your identity would have been taken note of, which can prevent you from doing many things that requires identification, such as buying a plane ticket." The silver male explained with a straightforward tone that didn't help with Jennie's growing panic.
But Jennie still argued, "Imposter officers captured me, and I doubt my ex took the effort to tell the hotel staff about me, thinking that the imposters did. The damn Traffickers also were in a rush to put me in a cage."
"Whoa, so an ex is responsible for all of this, eh?" V raised an eyebrow in mock interest.
"Is that all you heard?" Jennie was losing her patience. "Besides, I don't need you in this conversation when Suran-ssi can help me out just fine."
"I'm stating truths that Suran feels too bad to tell you," V pointed out. "Staff could've seen security footage and put a record on you."
"That's not a truth, that's only a possibility, you jackass." Jennie wasn't one to swear at someone, let alone a stranger, but it slipped and she didn't regret it.
"Whoa, whoa, watch your tongue, you bratty bitch. Starting to regret saving your sorry ass."
"The temperature is dropping the temperature is dropping!!" A wild Jungkook appeared and stuck his arms in between the arguing duo to separate them. "Birds don't like the cold."
Lisa also made an appearance and blew out a breath while standing close to them. Jennie gasped when she saw a cloud coming from her mouth. "There's literally two feet of cold air surrounding you two. Wow, the expression 'things are getting heated' does not apply to you two, ironically."
