Ch. 12 Hunting Trip

"V-oppa! Wait up!"

The pair of cat Shifters almost exited the door when they were called by a cute female voice. They turned to see a younger girl running up to them excitedly.

Jennie watched as the most gentle and fond smile appeared on V's face, something she didn't know the tough tiger was capable of. V caught the jumpy girl into his arms for a hug, "Whoa there, hello to you too, Yeri-ah. Did you really miss me that much?"

The smaller girl giggled, "Miss you? What, no way! It's only been three days, oppa!"

V released his arms around her right away and deeply pouted, "Okay, I'll be going now." He was about to pivot on his heel when Yeri caught his arm.

"I'm kidding, oppa! And anyway, I'm excited because I get to finally tag along on a mission with you!!" As if saying that gave her more energy, she began bouncing in place and Jennie couldn't help but coo at how cute this girl was. To her, the two looked like sibling goals.

"This mission? You're coming?" V questioned in surprise.

Yeri just nodded then turned to Jennie with a sweet bright smile, "Wooow, oppa, she's really pretty! And I thought I had to help you pick a girl."

While Jennie laughed at this, V groaned loudly, "Yeri, you are the third and better be the last person to comment something like that."

"Nice to meet you, unnie. I'm Kim Yeri, a Pink Cockatoo Shifter. Hoseok-oppa sent me to help you guys on your mission. Oh, and also to tell you to wait for him while he gathers reinforcements."

Jennie couldn't help but coo at the little girl and give her a hug, "Awww, you're so cute!"

V made a gag noise, "No, don't fall for her act. Back to the point her, ahem, I'm all the 'reinforcement'," V exaggeratedly air quoted, "she needs."

But Yeri crossed her arms definitely, "V-oppa, what's my gift?"

V knew it was a rhetorical question to him but answered anyway to get to her point, "Uh, mimicking voices." Jennie could see the connection of her Gift with her animal, and now she's curious to see that in action.

"And do you have a plan after doing whatever you need to do with the target?"

"Uhh, dispose his body as always, duh."

Yeri sighed, shaking her head, "Oh big brother, it's always kill and dump for you."

She may have said it in a playful, teasing way, but to Jennie, it actually scared her a bit. She still wasn't used to the harsh ways of the Shifter world. Even if she did despise Jason a lot, "kill and dump" was on an extreme high level of messed up against her morals.

V's eyebrow twitched in annoyance and he gritted his teeth, giving her a warning glare, "Yeri-ah, not appropriate in front of Jennie, please."

Realizing her mistake when she saw Jennie's slightly paled face, she laughed nervously, "Uhh, haha, right, I didn't mean to scare you, unnie. My oppa is not a cruel person, I promise! Anyway, as someone who specializes in covering up our tracks by faking scenarios, you two are obviously not going to let him go home to let him expose Jennie-unnie. But it would look suspicious and worry his parents if the guy doesn't go back home after a long time."
