Waking up to a completely unknown environment was always, always terrifying. All the negative emotions come rushing in when you wake up from nothing to something too much for your tired mind to comprehend so soon.

But honestly, Jennie thought she would rather find herself in the rusty cage or the dark woods than a dream-like calming setting. At least with the other two scenarios she could toughen up and find a way out.

But when she woke up this time, the soft pink of the room, the fluffiness of the blanket and pillow, the warmth of everything... Jennie almost believed she was back in her own room in her safe house with Grandma Maylee.

Almost.

And that's what stabbed her heart.

"G-Grandma..." Jennie choked through her sudden sobs. She hastily kicked off the blankets because the warmth of it just made her long to be home more. "Calm down, Jennie," she told herself, tugging on her hair. "You're already being such a burden, so don't look like a cry-baby. You're a freakin' snow leopard for God's sake."

Just as she finished her little self-assuring monologue, there was a light knock on the door. Jennie hastily pulled the blanket back on the bed and wiped away the tear stains. "C-Come in."

It was Lisa with her joyful smile and in her hands was a tray of breakfast. "Good morning, Jennie! Hope you had a good sleep."

Jennie instantly relaxed at the kind aura the blonde gave off, in contrast with her usual badass one. "Yeah I did, best sleep in a couple of days. But... how did I get on your bed? I thought crashed on your bean bag chair."

"Oh, I had V carry you into bed. Why would you sleep on the floor after an exhausting day? You poor child."

I laughed at how she patted my head. "Thanks, sorry I stole your bed."

"Don't worry about it, I crashed in one of my friend's room. Anyway, I bought you breakfast because you slept past our usual breakfast time."

Jennie's stomach growled embarrassingly loud at the smell of bacon, eggs, rice, and kimchi. Lisa laughed it off, "Eat up. It's almost noon and we gotta show you the ropes around here. V is getting more restless as we speak."

Jennie felt Lisa study her with curious eyes but a slight smirk. She stuffed her face with rice, "W-What?"

"You're an interesting one, never seen V like this."

"People keep saying that even though they haven't really seen me do anything that great as a shapeshifter, except JHope." Jennie forced down a blush by continuing to eat. "V seems really social to me, even though he has his cold side. But I wouldn't be surprised if he easily gets along with anyone he wanted. He's got that social trait, so I'm nothing special."

"Mm, sure, I guess you can say that," Lisa mused, but Jennie could tell from her tone that she knew more than she let on. It wasn't her business to pry though, so she didn't comment further.

Lisa got up to her closet and pulled out athletic wear, "I'm gonna take you out shopping tomorrow while the others prepare your room. In the meantime, you can borrow mine. And here's a towel for the shower."

"Thank you so much. I'm sorry, I really wish I wasn't... empty of everything." The image of her burning property flashed in her mind.

Lisa placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Hey, no more sadness around here, got it, girl? Once you're done, come meet us downstairs. Can't wait to show you around."

Jennie returned the excited smile, "Me too, actually. Thanks again. See you in a bit."

Once Lisa left, Jennie quickly finished her meal and changed into black leggings and chose the dark purple long sleeve out of the three Lisa provided. After showering and feeling ten times more refreshed, Jennie officially felt ready for her next adventure.
