A/N: I've decided to change the perspective. Sorry if this gets confusing.
Misty and Tanner were in the park, sitting on a bench. They had been talking for the past hour about anything and everything they could. All the while, Misty and Tanner were both so grateful to have each other at last.
"So, umm Misty?" Tanner asked nervously.
"Yes?" Misty replied hesitantly.
"Would you, ummm, would you like to meet my grandmother?" He asked.
Misty smiled. 'This is the first time he's mentioned his grandmother and I in the same sentence. I'll finally get to meet her!' Misty thought.
"Sure!" She replied.
Tanner smiled and got up. "Alright then. Let's go." he said with a smile as he held out his hand.
Misty gave him a shy smile and took his hand. A shock went through her whole body as his fingers intertwined with hers. She still wasn't used to this feeling she got, just from holding his hand. But she loved it.
The two walked down the street, hand in hand. People would stare every so often whispering, 'Wow, look at them!'
"They're both so gorgeous...'
'Yeah! The perfect couple!'.
Misty smiled, secretly enjoying all the looks from the others around her.
They walked for a couple blocks and stopped in front of his apartment building.
"Well, here we are." He took in a deep breath. "By the way, I just thought you should know, she's a little harsh when it comes to meeting people for the first time. I guess you could say she's... very opinionated. I mean, I'm sure she'll like you, you're a lovely person-"
"Tanner... She sounds wonderful." Misty gave his hand a reassuring squeeze and smiled at him.
He looked down at her, his eyes warm and excited. Her heart jumped when he looked at her like that, full of admiration and love. Tanner let out a sigh and smiled back at her.
"Okay. You ready?"
"Yup." Misty smiled up at him.
The two smiled at each other before they stepped through the revolving doors. The lobby of the building had a warm and home-like feeling. The tile floors were a caramel color with a huge red floral rug leading to a dark, polished, wood staircase. The walls were the same color as the tile but textured. A big chandelier hung above the warm red rug, giving the lobby a soft luminescent glow.
To the right was a dark, polished, wood desk that matched the staircase. Behind the desk stood a female holo-employee, for short, a holo. These holos were installed in many new buildings to save companies money that would have gone to paychecks. The holo had a sort of blue glow around her and was wearing a grey fitted blazer with matching slacks, along with a pink blouse. Her 'hair' was tied into a neat blonde ponytail. She smiled and waved as Misty and Tanner walked by.
Misty watched the holo in awe, being she doesn't see them often. Misty lives in the suburbs of New New York, while Tanner lived in the uptown, wealthier part of New New York.
Tanner chuckled at Misty's fascination with the holo and lead her to the staircase. Misty giggled and brushed her hand along the polished wood, enjoying the cool smoothness of the railing.
"What's that? Over there." Misty asked, pointing to the silver panel on the wall beside the desk of the holo.
"Oh. That's the request panel for an elevator. They're very new and are really cool actually. You just press your hand on the box and the elevator will pop up on the wall as requested."
"Wow. Why didn't we go on the new elevator?" Misty questioned, feeling like 5 year old at the zoo, fascinated with all the surroundings.
Tanner laughed. "Well, I don't know, I guess it just creeps me out, how the elevator pops up out of nowhere. And the fact that there's a person in the elevator when you enter. They're there to provide you a beverage or snack as you ride the elevator. Kinda weird actually."
Misty giggled. "I can only imagine the amount of awkward silences they go through per day."

As the young couple left the staircase and walked in the hallway of the 3rd floor, Tanner began to mumble.
"My grandmother is kinda harsh, and I'm not sure if she's in a good mood or not today, but if she's not, I promise I won't leave you alone in a room wiht her. She can get pretty nasty at times-"
"Tanner." Misty interrupted. "You have nothing to worry about. I'm sure we'll get along just fine." She smiled reassuringly at Tanner. "It will all turn out fine."
Tanner took in a deep breath and sighed. "I know, I just don't want her to scare you off. These last couple of months have been, probably the best time I've had in my entire life. And now that I've finally found you, I don't want to let you go." He ran a hand through his hair and looked up, worry clouding his thoughts. Suddenly, he felt a slight poke on his cheek. Misty had kissed his cheek.
He looked down at her and smiled, all his worry gone, now that he was with the girl of his dreams. He squeezed her hand gently and kissed her cheek. l
"Thank you."
"For what?" Misty asked, confused.
"For always cheering me up." Tanner's smile grew wider and warmth spread all throughout his body. He was genuinely overcome with happiness.
The door of the room they were about to walk by suddenly swung open, almost hitting Misty in the face. Luckily, Tanner was quick enough to pull her out of the way.
"That was close." Tanner chuckled.
Misty's face turned pink in shock of the door set up to knock her out. Or maybe the desire of the person behind the door to knock her out for good...
An elderly woman walked out from the door, dressed in gray slacks and a bright pink blouse covered up by a yellow blazer, just as bright. However, her face held a different expression when her eyes met Misty's. Her somehow bright and cheerful blue eyes turned cold and bitter, and if that glare could kill, Misty would be dead a hundred times over.
"Oh! Hello Tanner!"
"Grandmother Vidia!" Tanner said as he smiled. He walked over to the woman and enveloped her in his arms. "I've brought someone I'd like you to meet!" He motioned towards Misty.
"Vidia, this is my girlfriend Misty. Misty this is my Grandmother Vidia." Tanner introduced Misty with a charming smile.
Misty blushed at his smile towards her and then turned her attention towards Vidia. "It's nice to meet you! I've heard so much about you!" Misty said offering her hand with a smile, trying to be pleasant while Vidia mentally threw daggers at her.
Vidia looked at her hand and huffed. "Hm. Yes. I've heard things about you too."
Misty's face dropped and a look of fear crossed over her. Her eyes widened and a pain was beginning to grow in the back of her head.
Did this woman hate me!?
What have I done?
What will happen to Tanner and I if she does hate me?
