Chapter 9 - Neighbors

"Hi, Mr. Jeon?" His eyes were wide, as if he couldn't belive you were standing infront of him. You best believe, that the feeling was mutual.

"Y/N? I didn't know you lived around here." You chuckled nervously. " I actually live right next door." You said.

"Well, it'll make easier for me to help you study." He beamed. You giggled at his cuteness. "I brought this for you." You said handing over the cake. He gladly took the cake.

"Would you mind coming in and having some cake." "Yea sure." Y/N, what are you getting yourself into?

He let you in and led you to the kitchen. He had a small table with 4 chairs. Why so many? The whole place seemed really cozy. The feel was so nice and warm.

"You can take a seat." He pulled out a chair for you. You blushed like crazy. "Th-thank you?" You managed to stutter out. He just smiled.

"I'll be back, the box with the plates is in the living room." He came back a couple minutes later, with two plates and forks. "Here we go." He said handing you a plate and fork.

It was an extremely awkward setting. "So... What do you need help with the most? We can tackle that first." He finally broke the silence. "I'm doing poorly in Social Studies." He just stared at you blankly.

"Soo... You're doing really bad in History?" Suddenly you became really hot. You could tell your face was on fire. Why did have to correct me like that? "Yea that." You said as quietly as possible.

"So can we start tomorrow?" Your head shot up. Tomorrow? Isn't tomorrow is Saturday? "But tomorrow is Saturday?" He just looked at you.

"And? I'll finish packing tonight, and you can come over at around like 1pm." He smiled brightly. "Well I dont have anything to do tomorrow, so sure. I'll come at around 1:30pm." You smiled back.

"Well I'm going to go back to my apartment. Ill see you tomorrow." He looked at you. "Okay. See you tomorrow." He intense stare made you nervous so you quickly excused yourself and left.

When you got back to your apartment, you went straight to room and saw you had some messages from Minhyuk

Y/N😋❤ - GUESS WHAT?!

Minhyuk😋 - Now you love me?😒

Y/N😋❤ - I'm sorry. ☹

Minhyuk😋 - Just kidding. 😂 What is it?

Y/N😋❤ - Asshole 😂. And Mr. Jeon is my neighbor!!

Minhyuk😋 - Jinjja?! That's awesome!

Y/N😋❤ - Yea! I'm going over tomorrow to study.

Minhyuk😋 - Just to study? 😏

Y/N😋❤ - No stop! He is just going to help me with history. 😒

Minhyuk😋 - Mhmm... Okay. Well I have to go. I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Y/N😋❤ - Okay byee!! 😁

You made your way to the kitchen. "Hey mom, how are you feeling? Did you take your medicine?" She looked down. "I'm fine, I took the medicine."

"It's okay mom. You'll be okay, I promise. Come on, let's go watch some TV." You and your mom went to the living room to continue your drama. You guys watched 5 episodes and then went to bed.

"Goodnight mom. Sleep well." You hugged her. "You too baby." You both went to bed.

When you woke up, it was 10am. "Sleeping in, is so nice." You said stretching out your unused muscles. You quietly went to check on your mother. Thankfully she was still asleep.

You quietly made your way to the kitchen to make breakfast. After you had finished, you took your mom her breakfast. "Good morning Mom."

She slowly opened her eyes and smiled. "Thank you Y/N." You smiled and said. "I love you, mom." "I love you too, sweetheart."

You got up from her bed. "Well I'm going to take a walk. I'll see you in a bit." It was around 11:30 when you left. You planned on walking for about an hour.

You slipped on some sweatpants and a hoodie and left. You walked to a near by park. You sat down on a near by bench. You checked your phone to see if anyone had messaged you.

No one.

You sat down for another 10 minutes. You got up to leave, but heard what sounded like a whimper. It was coming from a bush. When you got closer, you saw a bag and it was moving.

When you looked in side, you found a small puppy. He was shivering and crying. You quickly picked it up, and ran home. "Mom! I found a puppy!" You yelled once you got inside. "Let me see it."

She said coming into he living room. "Awww, how cute. It's so small!" You handed her the puppy. "I'm going to go buy the supplies for a puppy. Wanna come?" You thought about it.

"No, I'm going to go study with the neighbor." "Just be safe okay?" She changed and left with the puppy. It was around 12:20, so you decided to watch an episode of your drama.

When the episode was over, you were so angry. "Damn Eunho, getting in the way of Seoul and Dalbong's love story!" You shouted at the TV.

The time read 1:26. You went to go change. You slipped into some Jean's and a t-shirt. You grabbed your textbook and went over to Mr. Jeon's apartment.

*knock knock*

You waited for Mr. Jeon to open the door, and when he did you couldn't help but stare. He was wearing ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, white timbs, and a green wind breaker.

And to top all that off, he was wearing a cute red beanie. You'd never noticed that his ears were pierced until now. It was different, you were so used to seeing him in a button up, and some slacks. He looked attractive as hell. He looked like a hot 18 year old guy. Expect he wasn't, Y/N. CALM DOWN!

"Hey Y/N, come in." He moved aside allowing you to enter. You were impressed at how fast he organized everything.

He lead you to the kitchen. "Do you want anything." You thought for a minute and then said. "Can I have a water bottle, please?" He nodded.
"Of course." He sat down, and gave you the water bottle.

He scooted his chair really close, so you could both see the textbook. You didn't flinch like you did, when Hyungwon sat next to you because you enjoyed Mr. Jeon's company.

"So.. What's up? What don't you understand?" He asked. "It's not that I don't understand, I just didn't study. I need a study budy." You smiled at him, and he chuckled. "Well you came to the right place." He showed you his adorable bunny smile.

It was a smile you would grow very fond of in time, but not just yet.

You guys began reading the text book together. After you read the first chapter, he gave you a small quiz. You got a score of about 79%.

"Not bad, Y/N." "Thanks Mr.-" He quickly cut you off. "No, call me Jungkook. We're not in school, you don't have to be formal with me."

You gave him a small smile. "Thank you Jungkook." He smiled and said. "That's more like it."

You ended up reading three more chapters, and your scores on the little quizzes kept improving.

"Nice Y/N! You're doing great. But that was the stuff from the first quarter. We can take things slower now. We'll go off of what you learn in class."

You sighed. "I just hope this helps me on the 1st semester exam." "It will, don't worry." He hesitated a bit but, then said. "Can I take you out for a treat, since you did so good today?"

Should I go, or should I not go? Hmm...
