We were swimming and laughing in our drunken state ,when we were interrupted by a deep voice, "Who's there? You shouldn't be here!"
Chapter 3
Clary's POVWe stopped laughing and splashing when we heard the voice, "Get your stuff and go I'll meet you in a bit." I whisper to Eff and Si. "No you'll get sent home in a cop car again and you'll dad will kill you." Simon mumbled angrily. I looked away from him towards the door where the voice had came from. "Eff get him out of here I'll distract him while you guys go I won't be long." I hear them get out of the water quietly and then I hear the door click shut. I get out of the pool and stand by the edge with my eyes crossed over my chest waiting for the person to come through.
I stand there waiting for a middle age man with a flashlight to come in and start shouting, threatening to call the cops on us 'hooligans' but I was surprised when my eyes fell upon a mass of gold. A tall muscular boy who looked just a little older than me walked through the door, he looked around and our eyes met. I noticed his eyes were golden somehow and they were sitting in sunken dark circles. His head was filled with a collection of golden soft hair creating a halo of some sort, his jaw was sharp and his cheekbones stood out, he was so beautiful. I snapped out of my daze as he made his way towards me stopping a few feet in front of me.
"How the hell did you get in here?" He asked groggily like he hadn't slept. My lips curved into a smirk I was about to work my charm, "Well hello. So sorry am I not supposed to be here?" I reply sarcastically. He looks at me tiredly and rolls his eyes. "So you're one of the cocky ones." He sighs exhaustedly, "You know I'm gonna call the cops right?" He runs his hands over his face and down his neck making the veins in his hands pop. I silently laugh, "You're supposed to, but you won't." He looks at me confused. His confusion then turns into a playful look as a smirk creeps onto his face, "Oh really? And what makes you think I won't?"
I walked away from where I was standing so I could be further away from the pool. His eyes follow my every move, "You're not going to call them because I'm going to make you a deal" he keeps smirking whilst he stares straight into my eyes waiting for me to finish. "I'll allow you to ask me some questions about myself if you'll keep this incident between us. I'll ask you some as well, like 20 questions." His smirk widens and he looks amused. "Okay then. Question number one, what is your name?" He crosses his arms across his chest making his muscles in his arms bulge making me feel a little turned on. I wipe the dirty thoughts from my mind as I answer him. "My name kind sir is Clarissa but I would prefer Clary." He smiles when I say the last part. "So strange man standing before me, what may your name be?" I beamed in an amused voice. His smile grew wider and he answered, "Well miss my name is, Jonathan but you may call me Jace." He spoke and performed an exaggerated bow. I suppressed a laugh and carried on with my game.
"Okay why are you here?" Jace continued with a hint of seriousness lacing his tone. "Well seeing as it was my birthday four hours ago, I was in the street drinking with some friends and I saw the pretty pool lights and was completely enchanted." I said in a little girly voice being more sarcastic than ever. He stopped smiling and looked down at his crossed arms. "Why are you here then?" I ask deciding to be serious for once. He takes in a breath and looks back up at me, "I'm night security." He motions to his jacket, which had the words 'Security' printed on it, a bit confused. "Oh no, I know that but what I meant was, why are you here? See the question is quite simply as you showed me but for someone who is, I'd say about eighteen, you could be out anywhere right now, with your friends or even family, but you're here on a Saturday night. Why? That's my question."
He stops for a moment, a look of confusion washes across his face. "I'm seventeen. Anyway good question. I'm on probation, that's why I'm here." He looks away from my gaze and is a little embarrassed. "Oooo what did you do?" I reply with eagerness. I love a bad boy, "Uh uh, my turn. How old are you?" He looks at me a bit playfully, I bit my lip and looked down before speaking. "I'm sixteen." We both stay silent for a while, and as I'm about to break the silence I feel a cold breeze go past me sending a shiver down my spine. It was only then that I had realised I was standing here the whole time in my underwear, I shivered from the cold and wrapped my arms around myself.
"Oh crap your cold. Here." He walked over to me removing his jacket and placing it on my shoulders. It was at this moment that my nose was filled with his scent, he smelled of pine and peppermint. My favourite. I snapped myself out of my daze and moved to grab my clothes. "Come with me I have a heater under my desk you could use that to warm up." Jace spoke with small concern, he walked off ahead of me and my little legs wandered behind.
When we reached his desk he motioned for me to sit down, as I did I was engulfed in a huge cloud of heat and I instantly felt my body relax and my eyes close. When I opened my eyes I saw Jace staring at me, he looked away quickly and cleared his throat, "So yesterday was your birthday?" He asks obviously trying to clear the tension between us. "Yes the 23rd of August." I say proudly. We both chuckle for a bit and then go back to silence.
I sit up quickly realising I left the guys waiting for me, "Crap, I've got to go." I say frantically grabbing my clothes and and throwing them on. Jace looks at me surprised for a bit then confused, "Wait, what, where?" I laugh a little bit at his confusion as I finish putting on my top. "I told my mates to wait for me outside they probably thought I got taken home by the cops again." I look up at Jace and memorise is facial features, how his eyes sit the way his mouth falls perfectly, how his nose sits and compliments the rest of his face, the way his hair lays. I was itching to draw him.
I snap out of my daze and rush to the doors by the pool. I'm stopped by his voice, "Oi wait, you forgot my jacket." I looked down and realised I had his jacket still in my hands. I ran back over to him and put it in his hands. As I did our hands brushed and I swear I felt something shoot through me. I looked up in surprise as Jace had the same expression, I brushed it away and ran back to the door. "Don't forget me Security guard. Just don't tell the cops my name age or birthday. Thanks!" I shout out to him before I'm out the door never seeing him again.
Hellooo. I quite liked this chapter it showed off how I want Clary to be portrayed, she's not so quiet and timid as all the others, I wanted her to be quite fiery and sarcastic. I hope you guys like it.
