Chapter 6
When Luna awoke she had a sharp pain in her gut and she had just had hunting dream about a man who face was half covered with shadows in front of it every time and anytime she did see him in the dream the shadows would hug him tightly. She could only watch as he burn down her village killing her family and friends. She could only watching in fear as he killed her dragon friends as well. It may have been even scarier to her that he when he handed her the knife commanding her to kill James and Alyssa, she did.
A part of her knew it was only a dream but the rest of her still feared that maybe she was seeing the future and what if it was showing she would become a monster?
Luna wasn't the only one having bad dreams, Alyssa awoke next and her dreams were unpleasant as well. She saw a dream that what hadn't came to her in a long time. It was one her parents deaths she remembered as if it had happened a few days ago not ten some ago go.
James was the last one to awake and this was very unusual for he was normally the first. But his wife's death flash before his eyes again after so long. He felt guilt again fill him.
Even the small fox, Charlie, jumped awake with Terror. If they haven't all been lost in their own pain they would have seen the shadows going closer. It was dark and cold in the shadows. And the darkness was drawing near.
They have been riding all day when the horses making noises of fear. Black goo grab their hooves and tried to pull them into the shadows. Luna leap down from her horse and spun she pulled the sword James had given her out from its holster. Looking around to find her foe and ready to fight.
The path got dark and cold in a split second. It was then a man emerge from the shadows he had deadly pale white skin and hair as black as coal. He had a large smile, but it was more of a hunting taunting smile. In a voice that was as smooth as velvet, he said, "My, my what do we have here a Fallen far from home, a mere maid, and a tired old man."
Charlie stuck his head out from Alyssa coat and made a deep growling noise the man's eyes flicked to the fox in distaste, "Oh, and a small rat creature. How could I forget?"
Luna faced him her sword raised ready to fight and demanded, "Who are you?"
The man taunted her by walking around her and her friends, He seemed to dance in and out of the shadows silently. He laughed roughly at some point and taunted, "Wouldn't you like to know, girl."
Alyssa hung onto her horse tightly in fright. James was pale with fear and Luna was trying to remain strong and fearless, but inside she shook with fear.
The man stepped close into Luans space smiling wickedly and lifted his coal black bangs. In the dark light a pale full moon was shown on his forehead. Luna couldn't stop herself from stepping back in fear, then as quickly as he was there he was gone. Back into the shadows, but they all had the feeling he was watching. Luna was shaken to her core and couldn't stop herself from asking herself. Could he be?
The horses calmed and the shadows slipped silently back into place, but still their hearts did not calm. The darkness still tinted the air and left them all haunted. Luna still dazed jumped up onto her horse sliding into the saddle. Her mind was in a rough turmoil. Her heart was racing and the need to keep her hand on her sword was almost to much to ignore. It was a long while before any of them spoke they were too shocked to talk and even frightened to do so afraid he was watching from afar. It was late at night when they began to talk again. The silence became almost to deafening so the conversation started with Alyssa holding Charlie close to her body and she asked, "What was that?"
Luna look up at her silently fear could be read in her once wonderfilled eyes and said softly almost too afraid to talk at all, "I'm not sure actually."
James cleared his throat and asked, "What did he show you?"
Luna paused before answering and touched her forehead were her own moon laid while doing so her hands shook, "He had a full moon mark much like my own."
Alyssa pulled her friend into her side for comfort and said, "I'm sure it was nothing." Luna could only nod unsurely. This man had her frightened down to her core.
