Mackenzie's POV
"Mackenzie, Jayden, and Asher please report to head office. Thank you." I heard over the loud speaker. I left my room and walked down the hall of this evil place that we call an orphanage. When I got there Asher and Jayden were already there. "Do you guys know what this is about?" I asked them. "I have no idea." Said Jayden with a scared expression on her face. "Hello children, come in!" The lady at the desk said. She was being oddly nice. She usually hates children. We walk into the ladies office and sit down. "Hello children. There's something I need to tell you. Mackenzie your parents have died in a car crash. Jayden and Asher. Your parents were in the same crash. It was so severe that there was no survivors." She Said to us. "Why would we care! They left us." We all Said in unison. "Well, your parents were paying for you to stay here without knowing it. So now that they have died. No one pays the bill. So if you don't want us to throw you out on the streets, you will work here and clean, cook, and do everything the children need." She Said. "WHAT!" We all yelled in unison again. "Im not sorry children." She Said laughing. "We've never liked you kids anyway! You will go get your simplest clothes and bring them with you. Along with your night wear. You'll be moved to the attic and not socialize with the children unless you have too." She Said like it was no big deal. "Get out of my sight you peasants." She snapped. We all left fast and agent to our rooms. "What are we going to do?" I asked Jayden. "I have no idea." She said worried. I gathered my clothes and she said just simple things, but I'm bringing everything. You never know what might happen! I walked out of my room with my bag packed and grabbed my phone. It was a gift from my parents when the dropped me off here. They gave it to me when I was 6. I know I sound spoiled but I had sense so I didn't use it until Jayden got one. My parents last words to me were, "you might be our kid but we hate you! Go!" I could here my mom yelling. She pushed me out of the car and drove off as fast as she could. Just the image in my mind made me shudder. There was a knock at my door. "Hey Kenz! Let's go they want us out as fast as possible!" Jayden yelled. I walked out. "Did you pack your entire wardrobe?" I whispered to her. "Yup!" She whispered back. We giggled. "No laughing!" Shouted the women taking us to our new rooms. She had a ruler and hit us with it. I thought that was illegal! She walked us up a bunch of stairs and into our new rooms. Me and Jayden would share a room and Asher would get his own. "Your rooms!" The lady yelled. We scurry into our rooms. I hear the door lock. "Great! The witch locked us in!" I Said as I sat on a bed. This is what the rooms look like

They were so old the room looked like it could collapse at any moment. "This conditions are horrible!" I Said to Jayden. "Tell me about it!" She Said back. "Hey guys." Said Asher. "AHHH!" Me and Jayden both screamed. "Asher! Don't do that!" I yelled. "Sorry. But look." He Said as he lifted in a bored from the wall the separates the rooms."Wow." Said Jayden sarcastic. "Hey! Be happy! I brought someone with me!" She Said to Jayden. He lifted up the bored again and Conner came in. "CONNER!" Jayden yelled and ran into his arms. "Hey Jay!" He said hugging her. "How are you here?" She Asked him."I heard what happened and I said to the head lady that I'm going to be with you and Asher. She hates me so she was happy I said something and now I do chores with you." He said putting her down. She slapped him in the arm. "Your such an idiot!" She Said to him. "How?" He asked confused. "You shouldn't have done that! You should still be in your nice warm bed and not sitting her freezing with us!" She Said to him. "Well too bad." He said. She grabbed his face. "Your an idiot, but I love you anyway." She Said. "Love you too." He said and they kissed. "Aww!" I Said. They pulled away. "I ruined the moment didn't I?" I asked Jayden. "Yup." She said popping the p in Yup. We laughed. The door was being unlocked. I pointed to the door and Asher and Conner quickly ran into there room. Me and Jayden kicked our bags under the bed and sat on the bed. "LIGHTS OUT LADYS!" She yelled at us. "Yes ma'am." We Said as she violently closed the door and locked it. We heard her yelling at the boys to do the same. We changed into our nightgowns that the firs were required to We're. We heard her walk downstairs and the boys came in. "What's her damage!" I Said sassy. "I have no idea!" Said Jayden and we all laughed. "Well we should go to bed. We have a long day ahead of us." I Said to them. "Yeah." Said Jayden. She got up and kissed Conner. She pulled away. "Bye Conner." She Said looking up at him. "Bye baby." He Said. "Ok, stop. Remember that's my sister." Asher said to Conner. "Got it!" Conner said. We all laughed. "Welp bye." I Said dragging the word bye. They left and me and Jayden got in to our beds. It was a peace of wood. "How do they expect people to sleep on these!" I Exclaimed. "I have no idea." She Said back. "Well, we can try to sleep. Goodnight." I Said to Jayden. "Goodnight Kenzie." She said. I was tossing and turning until I finally fell asleep.
