It was morning, and Sunmi was the first one to get up that morning, as she roamed around the huge house, a sense of familiarity came over her as she remembered spending countless holidays in this house.
She walked to the back outdoor area that had a huge garden and she remembered how many times she'd walk through this garden and the amount of scars she had from accidentally running into the rose bushes when she'd play games with Sujin and Jisung.
"You're up early" A voice was heard from behind Sunmi as she turned around to see Jaehyun, who smiled at her as he greeted her by bowing
"Yeah, I'm usually always awake by this time" Sunmi said as she gave him a small smile, turning her attention towards the many flowers as she started to walk slowly with Jaehyun walking by her side
"Is anything wrong? You seem very thoughtful" Jaehyun said as he noticed the vacant look in sunmi's eyes while looking at the flowers
"It's been an eventful couple of weeks, I think you can guess how I'm feeling" Sunmi said, chuckling dryly as she smiled sadly down at a beautiful flower
"I don't know, you tell me, it'll probably make you feel better" Jaehyun said as they kept walking side by side through the long garden, sunmi nodding and thinking for awhile before answering
"I feel sad, angry, and just overall mentally drained from everything that happened, and I never thought grief could be this bad" Sunmi said as she sighed and shrugged her shoulders
"But, I just have to get over it at some point" She said glancing up at the sky, slightly frowning as she looking down at the pavement
"I lost my parents a couple of years ago, I know how you feel, and it'll get better some day. You won't ever get completely over it but it'll be enough for you to live on with your life" Jaehyun said giving her an encouraging look as she nodded, feeling a little better after talking to jaehyun
"Is that why your living with my uncle? Because you lost your parents" Sunmi said
"My parents died, and the only person that me and my brother's had to take us in was your uncle, and we've been here ever since" Jaehyun said with a small smile as he picked a rose and gave it to Sunmi
"All the 18 boys are your brother's?" Sunmi said they sat down on some swings that were hidden all the way at the end of the long garden
Sunmi recognizing the swing set from the many times she would swing on it during her childhood and how one swing would be lower than the other because jisung was too short to Climb up the higher swing by himself.
"I'm siblings with Jaemin and (adopted) Mark, most of the guys here are my cousins while others are not even blood related but I still consider them as my brothers" Jaehyun said as he swung softly back and forth
"That's great that you have that many people in your life, it must never get boring with the 18 of you. I've always wanted a baby brother but I ended up getting a sister instead" Sunmi said chuckling, kicking her legs back and forth, as she tried to catch up to jaehyun's pace
"Now, you and sujin earned 18 more people in your life" Jaehyun said as he got up from the swing, handing sunmi his hand to help her get up from the low swing
"Yeah, I guess so" Sunmi said smiling as she took his hand to help her up, both of them starting to walk back to the house
"It's been so long since I've been back to this house, and it seemed like it was like yesterday that me, Sujin, and Jisung played in that same swing set and ran around the garden" Sunmi said looking up at the sky, as the sun finally came out and it shined brightly down on the two of them
"Why did you stop visiting?" Jaehyun said
"I don't know, we just stopped visiting out of nowhere" Sunmi said as she shrugged her shoulders
"Hey, breakfast is ready!" Haechan yelled from inside the house as he stood in front of the door that led towards the backyard
"Come on, you'll get to meet the rest of the guys"

Lol, this chapter is short but I'm planning to start updating (IM SERIOUS THIS TIME) more frequently because I really like the plot of this book and I'm going to start writing even more before summer ends😭💀
