Hello, hello?
Is anybody out there?
Cause I don't hear a sound.
The words surround my soul,
hitting their mark with strange precision.
The truth ignites the coal,
sending my being up in flames
with no warning.
Alone, alone
I don't know where the world is
but I'm missing out.
The loneliness is fatal
and slowly suffocating me,
with no escape in sight.
Becoming more unstable,
it seems like I'll never be free.
Why can't I find the light?
Listen, listen
I'd take a whisper if that's all
you had to give.
I'm desperate for a word,
a single noise to let me know that
I'm not alone.
Bawling into my hands,
the only sound coming back
are my own sobs.
Sometimes when I close my eyes
I pretend I'm alright but
it's never enough.
Each day I'm surrounded,
watching people walk past like nothing,
and I find I'm still pretending.
I'm in a room that's crowded,
people ignoring my presence,
my will slowly breaking.
I'm out on the edge
and I'm screaming my name
like a fool at the top
of my lungs
Being torn apart,
screaming eternally without
being heard.
Being left by others,
I watch as everything I know
fades away.
Echo, echo
is the only voice coming back.
Stuck in an open void,
I'm lost within the edges of my mind,
borderline insane.
Shadow, shadow
is the only friend that I have.
Wallowing in thoughts I'd rather avoid,
I can't stop from stumbling blind,
lost within my own pain.
I'm talking to my Echos,
and following my Shadows.

Hey, everyone. I'm super glad that I'm slowly getting back in the saddle, and I hope you guys haven't forgotten me with my slow updates. 😕
I know it's depressing as all hell, but I needed to get this down and out of my head. 'Cause after all, this was the original intention for the book. The fact that you guys read it at all still blows my mind, and I'm forever grateful for it. I just hope that I didn't bring down your day with this sad excuse for a poem. 😅
