Phil's point of view

Flashback

I wondered through the forest, thinking about what Luna had said to me about going to her school.

I jumped off a small ledge and landed on the soft dirt before continuing my journey around the wood.

I heard the flowing of a river and found myself walking in direction of the running water that travelled through the trees.

I eventually found the river and sat beside it for a while, letting the cool water run around my fingers as I dipped them into the pool.

I decided to travel further upstream, to hopefully find a small waterfall, when I saw a figure up ahead that had collapsed at a tree's foot.

I hurried my pace and saw a dark brown wolf that was badly hurt and had cuts all over him before I saw a silver mist travel around the body to reveal a great looking guy about the same age as me that had multiple bruises and cuts on his face, legs and arms.

His clothes were torn as well, and my heart shattered at the look of him.

I immediately ran to his side and inspected the damage, wondering what on earth could have happened to him when I heard a growl from the other side of the clearing.

I looked back and saw a pack of aggressive wolves, their teeth bared and snarling in my direction.

My calm expression changed to anger, and I took my own form, the black wolf's shadow that I am towering over them all.

Their moods changed quickly, and they ran off before I could make my way across the stream.

I changed back to human form, my blood still boiling but I let my expression become softer.

I turned back to see he hadn't moved and I walked to the stream and gathered some water in my hands and carried it back over to where he was sitting. I dipped my fingers in the water I held in my other hand and dabbed it on to his cuts on his arms.

I then moved to the tears that had ruined his jeans, and I pulled away the strings and dabbed at the cuts that were there.

After returning to the stream several times, I moved to his face.

His soft skin was cold to touch, and he winced as I cleaned the blood of his cheek. I proceeded then to carefully remove twigs and leaves from his hair.

As I pulled off the last leaf, he stirred and began to gain conciousness, and I noticed his chocolate brown eyes open right away.

He looked up at me, with fear clouded in his eyes as soon as he noticed me as a person, and he stumbled backwards quickly, and he hit his back on the tree that was behind him.

He shrunk down and trembled in fear, staring into my eyes.

"P-please don't h-hurt me," he whispered, his voice rough and tears began to well in his eyes.

"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you," I told him softly, giving a gentle smile as I made my way forward, but stopped as he tried to get further into the tree with each shuffle I made towards him.

He buried his head in his knees and held them tightly to his chest and he whimpered as I sat down next to him.

"What's wrong? Why were they hurting you?" I asked him gently.

"I-I don't know," he hiccupped, his muffled voice coming from within his ball position.

"They wouldn't hurt you without a reason, right?" I told him.
