Welcome to a week after "The Revenge Plan" against Chase, and here I was at four in the morning, wearing extreme hiking gear, and standing side by side with Chase himself, and the evil camp owner, Dodds.

"As a punishment for your behavior towards each other, you will be taking a day-long hike to hopefully teach you how to get along and be civil. Clear?" We nod. "Do not return to this point until sundown. Hope you both learn your lesson." And with that, we marched on into the forest.

I didn't mind his presence, as long as he didn't talk. Because him talking means his being a douche-hole, so I didn't try to make any conversation.

It wasn't until he realized that he was supposed to wear proper shoes, because he kept tripping over the tree roots and rocks showing jagged edges from the ground. It wasn't until he actually fell on his face that I let out a girly giggle.

And suddenly, I felt different. When Chase looked up at me with wide eyes, like I had something that wasn't supposed to say. But I have been silent so far the entire hike.

"Is something wrong?" I looked down at Chase's face. His chiseled features were sprinkled with dirt and dried leaves. His eyes sparkled with light blue and light green hues. He almost looked....attractive.

As soon as I thought that, I received a mental slap from my brain.

"No," my brain said to me. "He is the asshole, the enemy. Remember that."

"Um, no. Everything's fine." Chase scrambled to his feet, and we hiked on.

We passed tree after tree, all filled with creepy crawlers and critters alike. We were almost to the end of the trail, and that meant half of this terrible bonding hike was behind me.

I haven't said a word to Chase since he fell on his face. I couldn't help but take a glance beside me, just hoping that I could get a glimpse of his surreal eyes again.

I couldn't explain his behavior earlier for my life. What made him so uneasy? I replayed the scenario in my head.

He tripped and fell, I laughed. No, I giggled. And then he became weird. Was it my laugh? What was so special about it?

So far, it's been silent, excluding our heavy footsteps and chirping from the canopy above us. I haven't talked in the longest time and me, being a talkative person, I needed to speak to someone. I don't care if he didn't reply, my mouth need to move and my vocal chords needed to vibrate.

"Dodds wants us to be civil, right?" I started.

I glanced to the side. I looked at his profile long enough to see that he nodded.

"So, while we're on this long ass journey in complete solitude, why don't we do something worthwhile?"

He scoffed. "Like what?"

"Twenty questions. The most classic ice breaking game there is."

Chase actually chuckled. "Fine," he said, his face quickly becoming solemn again. "You go first,"

"Immediate family?"

"Two older brothers, and my mom. My dad passed away in Afghanistan while serving in army. Yours?"

"Only child. I live with my dad and my evil step mother. No step siblings. My mom passed away when a drunk driver hit her. Your turn."

In my peripheral vision, I saw a smirk come to his face. "What is your favorite pick-up line?"

"I use it when I meet a hot guy for the first time. I say 'My name is Ashlynn, but call me Ash. I mean it, call me,"

"Your real name is Ashlynn?" He asked with true curiosity.

"Yeah," I replied quietly.

"That's a beautiful name," I looked at him with a look of surprise. He, he just complimented me. Me.

I felt the blood rise to my cheeks. I don't know what came over me but I let out another girly-sounding giggle. I shut my mouth as soon as it came out.

"Alright, my turn, How about...."

***************

"You're still a virgin?!" I exclaimed.

"Keep it down, someone still could hear you even if we are in the middle of the woods. And you're a little hypocrite, how far have you even gone with a guy?"

After he said it, I immediately shut my mouth.

"Whatever. Are we close? My feet are exhausted."

"Well that's your fault," I said to him. "You didn't wear proper shoes,"

"Well I wasn't notified that we needed to,"

"Actually, we were," I argued. "Dodds told us that we were taking a day long hike yesterday. What were you paying attention to instead of his extreme double chin?"

"You," he responded without hesitation.

"What?"

"I-I meant, I was paying attention to your, uh, hair. It was a mess yesterday," I saw a blush rise to his face.

"Um, alright. Where are you from?" I ask.

"Philadelphia. How about you?" He replied.

"San Fran," I looked at the sun setting through the trees. We were almost to the starting point and I could see Dodds' silhouette not too far ahead. "Chase!! We're almost done. How about we run the rest of the way?"

"Alright. We're racing,"

"Fine by me," I inwardly smirked at the tree roots lying ahead and Chase's sandals.

"One, two, three!" He shouted.

I sprinted next to him. It wasn't until he turned to me to smile when he tripped over a root and fell. I didn't look back until I reached the evil man Dodds.

Chase jogged slowly the rest of the way, watching his step.

***************

We reached Cabin 16 just as the sun dipped below the horizon and stars started to peek through the light blue sky.

"Today was, fun," I said.

"Yeah, you're actually pretty chill," Chase agreed.

"You are not too bad yourself," I smiled at him one last time before I entered the cabin, him following behind me.

Jeremy and Nate sat on the wooden floor in front of their bunks, with the Clue game in front of them.

"I say it was Miss Scarlett with a pistol in the kitchen," Nate told Jeremy.

"Nope, it was actually Colonel Mustard with a pistol in the den, nice guess though. Oh, hey love birds! How was the first date?"

I dropped my hiking sack on the floor beside my bed. I wasn't in the mood for picking a fight with Chase, or the others, so I just smiled at them. I rummaged through my duffel, and after pulling out some pajama shorts and a blue cami, I carried them to the bathroom to change.

And then I fell into a blissful slumber without another word.

(A/N)

Hey y'all!! I apologize for any mistakes I made in the Clue game, I actually have never played the official board game. So yeah.

To Rose and anyone else who reads Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick: I put one of Patch's lines in here;) That line is credited to Becca Fitzpatrick.

Comment your thoughts on Chase and Ash and their almost budding friendship!!

Love you all<3
