When Yoongi woke up the next morning, the empty space next to him was long cold. His mood dropped instantly, showing him yet again how much of an impact you had on him. You had left, taking advantage of the silence and dark of the night to vanish like a dream. Exactly what I thought would happen. Why can't you just come back to me? I know that you need me just as much as I need you.
He buried his face in his pillow out of frustration, sighing lightly when your scent hit his nose. He got ready silently and joined the others at breakfast in the kitchen. His eyes searched for you, finding you standing next to Jin in front of frying pans, your hair softly falling in front of your eyes, hiding parts of your face as you laughed. If there was one thing he loved about you, it was your laugh and that morning... it sounded angelic. He gulped lightly, tearing his gaze away from you before finding a seat at the table next to Hoseok.
.
Your gaze wandered away from the pan for a few seconds, looking up at where the others were already sitting. Yoongi had arrived too, conversing normally with Namjoon and Hoseok. You felt guilty for sneaking into his bedroom last night only to leave like a thief in the morning, but you wouldn't have been able to face him if he had woken up next to you. I need to move on.
Jungkook's cheerful "Good morning!" interrupted your thoughts, making you smile brightly. Aish, this kid. "One of us slept well," Jimin chuckled and Yoongi's eyes moved to you at the mention of sleep. You avoided his gaze and stared at the dishes in front of you instead, not willing to face him just yet.
At the end of breakfast, Jin moved to clean up the kitchen but you ushered him away quickly. "Go, go. You have a busy schedule and you already cooked. I'll wash the dishes, at least today," Jin left you reluctantly, the other members following him after you had assured them that you were fine doing it by yourself. "Just so you know," Jin stopped midway to turn around with a grin, "I could get used to that."
"Yahhh, I'm not your cleaning lady!" you exclaimed, throwing one of the towels laying around at his face. He chuckled, chucking the towel back to you before he left for good.
Left alone, you began humming a melody, while you washed the dishes. Your thoughts trailed back to the last night. You had been in a moment of weakness... yet you could still feel his strong arms protectively around you, his familiar smell enveloping you, making your heart flutter softly.
I can't let myself go like that. I have to remain strong from now on, otherwise, I fear my heart will break again.
Focusing back on your task you finally realized the presence of two large hands on your waist, warmth sinking into your skin from where they laid. "This melody you've been humming all this time... maybe I should include it in our next album," a soft voice mumbled from behind you.
Yoongi's head resting on your shoulder, he had his arms around your waist, pulling you into a back hug. You let your arms go down slowly, leaving the last plate in the sink. Somehow you didn't want to pull away. "Yoongi," you whispered softly. He answered with a hum, nuzzling his nose into your neck. A light sigh escaped your lips as you were tempted to lean into the hug, lean into him. Your heart thumped in your chest but you shook your head. This is not healthy for me, neither for you. You detached his hands from around yourself, stepping away to put some distance between you. Your fingers trembled lightly at your movement so you quickly crossed your arms in front of your chest, hiding your traitorous hands to the best of your abilities. You knew that if he saw your weakened state he would find ways to persuade you, persuade you to come back to him.
