"Olivia, are you almost all packed up, my darling?"

"Yes," I shouted back in response to my wonderful mother, whom was waiting for me at the bottom of the staircase. "I just have to find my Owl City wristband first" I exclaimed as my cheeks glowed red as a raspberry.

"Today is the day that I fly all the way from New York to Hawaii, so that I can spend an entire three weeks with my best friend Lauren, who lives in California. I haven't seen her in person since she moved away three years ago," I thought to myself. So, as anyone could imagine, I was brim-full of excitement !

A few moments had passed, and I was still frantically looking for that silly bracelet of mine that I never leave without, when my mom warned me, "Well, you're going to miss your flight if you don't hurry those buns of yours up!"

"Okey, okey, I'm coming," I hollered back towards her, as I grasped the thought that I would really just have to go on without my wristband this time.

After pulling my jean jacket off it's hanger and snatching up my suitcase, I bolted down the stairs as fast as I could and threw my shoes on, just tucking the laces in, in order to save time, rather than actually tying them.

After I went outside where I could see the sun beginning to rise, I threw my luggage in the back seat, and eagerly hopped in the passengers seat while shutting the car door closed. After a good 45 minute drive to the airport, it was off to Hawaii!

We had already been driving for about ten minutes when I realized how dry and irritated my hands were.

"Hey, Mom? Do you have any lotion," I asked. We both giggled at that, because this was a question that came from me more than just 'frequently'! "I don't. I could have sworn I gave my last travel size tube to you the other day when i was giving you a ride to work," She said while holding a sheer smile on her face. I perked up as I remembered myself putting it in my purse that morning. "Oh, of course... here it is," I said in slight embarrassment of how silly I was to have forgotten that it was in my very own bag the entire time. "Look! My Owl City bracelet was here too!!!" I slipped it on my left wrist. That gave both of us a good laugh, and by the look on moms face, I could tell she was pondering what kind of monster my purse was! (Hehe)

I plugged my phone into the car for some music, and the first song I played was West Coast Friendship. Aloha, my happy west coast friends....

I thought to myself, "This is going to be one amazing and unforgettable Summer. Farewell for now, my dearest New York."
