Adam's House

"Why don't ya grab a box of pop tarts from the cupboard," Abbey said to Katie as we hauled the shopping bags into our kitchen.

Having just finished making up my bed with my new sheets and quilt, I walked out of the bedroom asking, "What flavors do you girlies got?"

"Just classic maple or strawberry," Katie replied.

"Ooh, bring both! I honestly can't remember which Adam prefers," Abbey giggled.

"You got it, Lore!"

After getting my bedroom and bathroom space situated, and after helping the girls put away some of the groceries that they had picked up for the week, that day, we decided it was time to get back in the car and head over to Adam's house!

Adam only lived about 10 minutes away, so it wasn't long before we were pulling into his driveway. His property was surrounded by pine trees just as I had imagined.

Abbey pulled her key chain out from her purse and fidgeted around with them until she found the one that belonged to Adam's front door. Then, she unlocked it and stepped inside, Katie and I followed close behind.

"Baby Bear, we're here now my love," Abbey said speaking in a bright tone.

"Your boy is probably in his den doing what he does best," said Katie.

"You mean, what he does second best," Abbey smirked.

"What possibly could he do better than making music," me and Katie questioned in unison, slighting confused by Abbeys statement.

Blushing, Abbey simply said, "Loving me. He's pretty stinkin' good at being my caring and handsome gent!"

Katie's eyes practically turned into hearts, and I'd be lying if I said that mine didn't do the same. "I just can't even with you two love birds!" We all giggled. Then, we heard footsteps coming from the basement stairs that were around the corner from the entryway which we were still standing in, down the hall.

A tall silhouette walked down the hall holding a bowl full of hot pizza pockets.

Katie perked up. "There ya are, Adam!"

"Hey girls," Adam smiled. "Welcome to my slightly messy home," he said, trying to at least act embarrassed about it. I had obviously never been to his house, so he then specifically directed his words to me. "Just make yourself comfortable, Olivia!"

As Adam lead us to the living room, he apologized for not being at the door to greet us, but then excused it by saying that he had to use his microwave downstairs, 'cause the one upstairs was acting funny. Katie laughed at his goofy- but very valid excuse, and teased, implying that she wouldn't forgive him.

"Wanna see what I've been working on?" he asked as he grabbed his laptop off of the side table near where he had just sat.

"Oh my goodness, YES," I shouted, sounding all too eager. Adam looked at me slightly confused, then looked down, noticing the bracelet around my my wrist which had the words OWL CITY pressed into its rubber. So, he shrugged, probably only just then realizing exactly how crazy of a HootOwl I am. He tried his best to return the twinkling smile I accidentally gave him, then simply patted for me to sit on the cushion beside him. Abbey and Katie hovered over his shoulders to see the files he was opening.

Adam showed us all sort of random sounds and samples he had been recording that past week week:
Chip bags banging on the kitchen counter, him cracking his big toe, the sound of Abbeys brush gliding through her silky blonde hair (that, Abbey was even shocked by, because she couldn't even remember when she was last brushing her hair near him.)
