"Hey Oli." Chirped a voice beside me. I closed my locker door to see Peter leaning against the locker next to mine.
"Hey dork" I giggled, turning slightly pink. I hugged my math books close to my chest and tried to even out my breathing before I made it too obvious that I was flustered because of him. He looked really really cute today and I had to avert my eyes from his gorgeous, curly hair because I knew if I spent one more second looking at it, I'd explode.
His eyes stayed trained on me, though. "You wanna go hit up Delmars or something after school today?"
I forced myself to look up at him. "Uh,yeah, sure. Is Ned coming?"
"I mean, I thought-" He was cut off by an all too familiar voice booming through the hallway.
"Peter!" Yelled an out of breath Ned as he ran over to my locker. "I've been looking everywhere for you, dude. You'll never guess what I got!"
"Speak of the devil" I heard Peter mutter under his breath and I laughed lightly so that Ned wouldn't hear. Ned then held up a mini Lego figurine and waved it on Peter's shoulder.
"For this curse will be your last!" He said, badly imitating the Star wars Character that the figurine depicted.
Peter turned towards him, smiling. "Haha, very funny, Ned. What is it?"
"A Lego death star! 3081 peices! We gotta build it tonight!" Ned whispered excitedly.
"Oh my god! Really?" Peter whispered back, possibly even more excited.
I finally spoke up and entered the conversation. "You two are nerds. I'm going to class." I said with a small smile.
Peter's face fell a little bit, but he made no attempt to stop me leaving. "Alright, Bye, Oli." He waved as I pushed off of the lockers and turned down the hall towards my seventh period class.
When I got home I placed my backpack next to the door and walked into the kitchen. My parents were away on a business trip so they totally wouldn't mind if I ate the last of the Ice cream, right? I grabbed myself a serving and sat on the couch in the small living room that was in my apartment. I hated how quiet it was. Whenever my parents are away, the quietness of the rooms start to get to me. You could hear a pin drop anywhere around the living space. It didn't help that our apartment complex was generally on the more quiet side, too. In fact, Peter lives just across from me. Sometimes I'm tempted to go say hi, especially on days like this where I feel especially lonely, but I can never work up the courage. Even if I did, what would I say? "Hi, neighbor? I just wanted to check in?" It's useless. I sat on my couch for quite a few hours before the light through the windows ceased to shine through. The sun had gone down which meant the hardest part of the day had begun. Sleeping. Nightmares were prevelant whenever it was quiet like this, and I knew that the time I spent not sleeling would be occupied with daydreaming about a certain someone. A certain someone that only lived a couple feet away from me. Yet I still could never talk to him outside of school. Whenever we wanted to hang out, Med would be in the way. And I understand why he's a priority, he's Peter's best friend, but I still couldn't help but want to feel a little selfish and steal Peter all for my own.
