I blankly stared at the creature on the ground below me.
"He's a crab," Tavari noted.
"I BEG YOUR PARDON! I'm A CRUSTACEAN!" The crab said in an extremely offended tone.
I turned to look at Tavari again with a blank stare.
"It's the same thing," Tavari said in an annoyed tone to the crab.
"Blehhh...Why did you summon me?" I think both of the two were already sick of the conversation.
"Well...my friend here...needs your help."
I looked at the two awkwardly not knowing what to say at all, so I kept my lips shut.
"A friend? Heh like you have any..." I heard what he'd mumbled but I'm not sure if Tavari had. "Whe-!" He gasped loudly as he turned towards me finally seeing myself. "HE's A?!"
"Yes. A Merman."
"FASCINATING!" The crab shouted.
"I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HUMANS ARE REAL!" I blurted.
"HEY! YOU! COME DOWN TO ME!" I looked down at the crab in confusion.
I realized something I should have asked a while ago. "You can talk?!" I asked the crab known as "Zane."
"Of COURSE I CAN!" Zane yelled.
"He's not your average crab. He is a Sentient crab." Tavari butted in.
I tilted my head from confusion. "What's that?" I asked.
"Hmm...You how the Sea Bun King could talk to us? Zane is like him."
"Ooh...interesting..."
"Now! Come here! Let me see what makes you different from Tavari!" Zane yelled again.
'That crab yells a lot...' I muttered to myself.
"A few things you should know about Zane...before I lend him to you..."
'Lend?' I asked myself.
"One. He's...a Scholar..." Tavari chuckled.
"a What now?" I asked.
"One who studies and wants to know things..." Zane spoke. He looked down at my body.
"I've noticed one thing...You have a strange tail structure...LET ME STUDY!" He yelled.
I backed up from the yelling crab already not really liking it.
"Two...if Zane is out of control...there is one way to distract him..." Tavari said as he reached for a pile of golden coins and held them in his hand showing me them.
He dropped them near Zane and a loud shriek erupted from the crab.
"SHIINNYYY!!!!" He screamed loud enough to shatter a diamond as he bolted for the pile.
"As you can...see...he's obsessed with "Shiny things."
"Wait...why do I need him again?" I asked watching the crab run in circles around the golden coins.
"You have ZERO knowledge of ANYTHING outside of the Kingdom of Mariana!" Tavari growled.
"Are you mad because I didn't give you a flower crown?" I blurted.
"NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A FLOWER CROWN!!" Tavari yelled.
He sighed. "You're going to need his help because I'm turning you, Human."
