"But Metatron is in nothingness right now, no one can escape that," Cas thought quickly. "You did," Dean commented. "That was different though I woke up,"He retorted. Max tilted her head, trying to understand. "It's where angels go when they die," Cas explained. Max nodded, "Who is he?" Cas took a breath, "He was the scribe of God." Max nodded once more and closed her eyes, trying to find him. She eventually did. He took the form of a short, grey haired man that lay still in a pool of black. She called out to him, "Metatron!" but he wouldn't wake up. His Soul was at peace. She opened her eyes, "He doesn't want to wake up." Sam rolled his eyes.

Soon after, a boy came in wearing a confused look on his face. Castiel turned around, "Jack!" He smiled and gave a small wave, "Hello." He paused, "I heard a voice." He looked around, turning his head to the side a bit and pointing at Max before asking, "Who is this?" Max got up from the couch to hold out her hand to him coyly, "I'm Max," she said looking everywhere but his eyes. He took it, "Jack, nice to meet you." He smiled and Max gave a small smile out of the corner of her mouth looking up at Jack, who's face faltered, "Are those contact lenses?" he asked and she laughed, "No, I just took them out." "wow," he said, unable to find other words. Max looked down putting both hands in her pockets, "yeah they're weird I know." he chuckled a bit at the statement, "It's okay, you should see mine when I could slowing time." She smiled, "You can slow time?" she asked. Dean showed up beside the two, "Yeah, yeah. Jack here used to be a Nephilim." Dean spoke, he was about to go on when Jack cut in shaking his head, "Still am. I got my grace back sometime yesterday."  Dean paused, "What do you mean?" Jacks eyes went bright yellow colored as the room slowed to halt and then resumed its original tempo. Sam piped up, "Jack that's great!" he said with enthusiasm, but lost that as he continued, "Its just.." "Probably bad?" Jack offered. He nodded, "Yeah."

Max had settled in well over the week, she had read half of the library trying to help Jack find what caused his grace to return and had gotten to know Sam, Dean, and Jack more. Castiel was often away and only popped in once in awhile. Though this time, him popping in was different. It was purposeful, almost a calm type of spaz that only Cas could achieve. She was sat in the library watching the Incredibles with Dean and Jack, who hadn't understood why Max kept calling him Jack-Jack. Of course, Max and Dean couldn't let him live in the dark much longer and Max came in after 'convincing' an employee at Walmart to let her have the movie. Dean gave her a parental warning look upon her explanation but in the end, nothing was done about it and so they sat watching the final few seconds of the movie when Castiel appeared, clearly determined.

"Jodie is saying there have been some weird things going on with the house. Lights are flickering, things are moving, the usual." Dean looked up at him, his face softening slightly as he considered, "You want me and Sammy to check it out?" Cas nodded, "I would like to go with you."

"Okay."

Max jumped at the opportunity, "Can I come?" Dean got up from the couch, heading towards the kitchen to grab some beer, "I don't think that's a good Idea kiddo." Max got mad, shooting up slightly and following him, "But why not? It sounds like to me it's either a poltergeist or a Demon in which case silver bullets and salt are all that's needed." Dean huffed, "Right," then turned around, "It's not that I don't think you can handle yourself, I just don't want you caught." Max looked down, "So how long am I supposed to hide here?" she said, looking up at Dean who was about to give in. " You're not going," Cas said, "And neither is Jack. Three is already overkill for this job and we don't know whats going on with his grace. You two will have to check in on each other." Max sighed in defeat, ultimately respecting their decision in the end, and grabbed a pack of beer, heading off. Dean jumped, "What are you doing?" he asked and Max looked pack, holding up the beer before saying, "Putting these in the cooler, I figured that's what you came in here for," and walked out.

"I don't like that they're alone together", Cas thought out loud, looking out the side window of Baby. He didn't have to ride with them of course, but what else was he to do? "I could have stayed back you know," Sam said, clearly annoyed. They had had this conversation multiple times already, "or you could zap back and check on them," Sam suggested. Cas thought about it for a moment before sighing, "No that's creepy." Dean piped up, "Look, Cas, she's barely human. What would they be doing anyways?" There was a moment of silence and then Cas grumbled, "I don't trust her." Sam rolled his eyes,"This was your idea." "I was backing up Dean," He said. Dean spoke, "Look. I trust her." "Dean, you've barely known her a week." Cas retorted. "Try thirty years," Dean snapped. That shut them up. Neither Max nor Dean had mentioned their time in hell. All seemed to have been forgiven from afar. But you could still see the hairs stand on Maxes neck when Dean would appear if the room was dark. It's easy to forgive but it's a bit harder to forget.

" Wait! Wait! Wait! Let me get some hot dogs," Jack yelled running to the kitchen and coming back with a pack of unopened hot dogs, throwing them at Max who grinned in excitement. It was eleven o'clock the next day and the two had found that together they made the worlds best microwave. Max pulled out a hot dog, throwing it up in the air and yelled, Go!" Jack put his hand up at the air-bound hotdog, freezing it in time as Max put her hand up, heating it up from the inside until it burst into a million pieces all over the room. Jack put time back and max snapped her fingers, putting the meat back together and they both fell on top of each other laughing. "That was fucking awesome!" Max said, wiping a tear from her eye. "Fucking?" Jack asked. This caused Max to laugh more, she has got to culture this kid, "Yeah! Like Fuck." Jack blinked, "What does that mean?" And Max tilted her head up a bit, pursing her lips, "I suppose," She thought, "It means whatever you want it to at the moment." Jack considered it, "I suppose that's pretty fucking convenient." Max laughed, "There ya go," she said, "I wouldn't overdo it though." And Jack nodded, "okay."

"Hey, Violet?" Jack asked. The nickname had been given after Jack watched The Incredibles and decided Max needed an Incredibles themed nickname too.

     "Yeah?"

"Why did they bring you here? Castiel didn't say."

Max looked down, trying to figure out how to explain it. "Oh," she said, "Well, I was kidnapped by ten angels. After they drug me out a ways I got mad and killed them all. All then." She stopped, clearly terrified by her own abilities, "And then I felt bad and put them back." She had never truly thought about how horrible it was. Jack probably didn't want to talk to her anymore. It was probably for the best anyways. She hurts people constantly, so whats the point? Jack looked forward, considering how to react to her story before asking simply, "So you can fix your mistakes?" Max hummed, "I've never seen it that way but... yeah."

Max looked up at the clock on the wall, "Didn't they say that they would be back by lunch today?" She asked and Jack nodded, "Yeah, but they're good friends with the Mills, they may have stayed an extra day." Max nodded but she didn't like the answer, she tuned into angel radio just to see if maybe Cas was saying something. "We have the Winchesters but Maxine is not with them. We will try brother Castiel for answers." Maxes eyes shot open wide jerking her head to Jack, "The angels have them," she said wide-eyed.
