" I don't need your help Cas!" I'm a grown ass man and I know when I need something", Dean yelled at Cas angrily. They had been arguing for at least an hour about Max. "You're not right about this," Cas said as cooly as he could, but the bite in his voice was still unbearably audible. "I'm simply requesting you speak with her, what you two talk about is none of my business." He continued as calmly as he possibly could.

"None of this is your business!" Dean cut him off.

"Guys", Sam attempted to gain the pair's attention, half to tell them something, half to shut them up.

"You almost ruined my mission grabbing onto her! She's lucky she wasn't found or killed and she would have been if it weren't for the precautions I had to take", Cas began to rant.

"Guys" Sam attempted again, only to be ignored.

"Which, in case you have forgotten, I was commanding an army in the middle of and was at your constant beck and call".

"Hey!" Sam yelled loud enough for the entire motel to have woken up.

"So I would like to believe that at least some of this is my business. What?" Castielle whipped around to attempt to understand what Sam was interrupting them for. Dean followed a bit slower, seeing Cas' point.

Sam took a breath," She can't be a Belial. They have unnaturally colored eyes, Maxes were blue"

"She has violet eyes," Cas said nonchalantly," She began wearing contacts when she was little".

"Why", Deans voice was unreadable but his heart broke.

Maxes eyes were a dull red around the puple with blue on the outer edge, though purple dominated her eye were the two colors matched. Dean remembered her eyes the most, they were two sunsets that still haunted his dreams once in a while. He remembered cutting her eyelids off once, just to see the fear in them. She would always keep her eyes closed, that's the way Dean liked it. The day he cut her eyelids off hurt him the most. He did it to see the full face of fear and sorrow he saw from his other victims, but instead, he was met with heart-piercing pity. While he stood over her, snickering and cutting her soul to shreds, she pitied him.

"They're not just violet", Dean corrected quietly, earning knowing looks from Sam and Cas. "What?" Dean scoffed, "I'm going to take a walk".

Sam and cas stood quietly for a moment after the door slammed shut, "I'm, uh, I'm going to go make sure he doesn't do anything stupid.", and Sam nodded slightly before Cas disappeared as well, leaving Sam by himself.

The stars shone brightly in the night sky and reflected fantastically in the damp pavement beneath Maxes feet. She turned her head to the grass and spit out five bitter pills from under her tongue. She had lost the argument with Mrs.lyles and had to take her medication under the woman's watchful eye. Lucky for Max though, her check was too simplistic, consisting of a simple glance at the inside of her cheeks.

She pulled out a book on cursed items that had been covered by a 'the fault in our stars' novel book cover. This made the book simple to hide amongst the other kids and almost went under the radar of any adult venturing into the room. Max had stolen the book from the library and didn't need to get caught stealing a book on 'satanic items' as adults would put it.

Max found a nice, broken in window of an abandoned building to sit in and commenced her research on the supernatural. She had been able to see things she knew no one else could see since she was born and decided around the age of ten, when one attempted to hurt one of the children at the orphanage, that she should know more about them. Of course, leading to heavier medication.
