Danny sat at the table with Winston and I, he slide his chair far away from me I didn't fail to notice. "Since when have you had a pet?" Danny asked, Winston shrugged, "since this morning I guess," he replied. I half heartedly finished off my 2nd burger and curled up onto a ball on the table.
"You gonna keep it?" Danny asked after Winston's retelling of our meeting a few days earlier, "I mean what else would I do? I think he's a Blandford fox and those things live out in the desert," Winston shrugged, "like the siharra?" Danny asked, "yeah I guess,"
"Then what's it doing out here?"
"It was probably somebody's pet, he's really tame,"I scoffed, I'm not tame, I'm docile. Danny shot me a look and slowly nodded. "Okay dude, sure... you have that thing with your parents tonight right? How's that going?" Winston tipped back into his chair, throwing his head back he sighed, "leader class, ugh, don't remind me," Winston soon broke into a rant, but I wasn't listening my attention had shifted.
In the Center of town a group of wolves fought, their teeth hacking into their companions, I stood, I wanted to leave their eyes flashed with blood lust. I chattered at Winston my tail tucked close to my belly, "your cat got spooked, man," Danny said. I was to nervous to correct him, not that I could. Winston sat up his eyes on me, he followed my gaze, "training?" He asked clearly confused on why I'd be scared. Training! That's how they train! I could see the blood splattering on the ground from here and I heard the sound of wolves in pain. I leaped from the table and crawled under the closest chair.
"Dude," Danny squeaked as I crawled under his chair, Winston bit his lip and I chattered at him from the relatively safety of my hiding spot. "We should go," Winston said throwing away our trash. After grabbing my leash he and Danny lead the way home but to my horror they started to walk toward the training yard. I pulled hard on my leash Winston shot me a look but didn't slow down he was in and animated conversation with Danny.
When we were only a block away from the yard I sunk my claws into the earth and refused to move, that got Winston to turn to me, his eyebrows raised. My back leg throbbed in pain as I refused to move, finally I had to lift it to get my weight off it, this really got his attention. Winston tried walking over to me, but as soon as I got some slack on the leash I walked backwards, away from the fighting wolves, some of which had appeared to notice us.
Winston gave me a stern look, "little Alpha!" My heart stopped. A man stood right besides Danny, I'd seen him moments earlier, he was the training commander, his wolves not to far behind, "who's your friend?"
I think I'm gonna stick to the short chapter format, because I do want to finish this book and I don't have many ideas so this way my book will seem longer and less like a long short story. So yeah, a lot of you guys wanted me to finish, anyone who's up at 3am that is, so here I go I guess. I will say I'm trying my best but don't hold your breathe just yet.
Anyway do you guys think a Q+A is in order? If you have any questions about the book, my life, or just my pets ask 'em here. I wanna be more active to make up for my year long disappearance.
