<Winston POV>

"Come on, man!" Danny complained, "no," I shook my head. Danny was currently trying to get me to return to the house so we could play video games and eat pancakes. I'd already made up my mind I was taking Bell to Doc now, who knows maybe his back leg is broken.

As I entered the lobby to Doc's home office Danny sighed, "fine, I'll stay." He grumbled I gave him a smile. Doc was our only healer he worked out of his three story town house and was the best around. Doc had experienced working with animals and humans due to the fact that sometimes wolves would be too tired to shift after a battle.

"Winston?" Doc called out, "Doc" I called back, Doc came shambling out from the back hallways of his house his wild white hair held back with pink barrettes, a sure sign his granddaughter had been around. Doc's eyes quickly scanned me before falling on Danny, "he fall down the stairs again?" Doc said, already leading us to one of the back rooms. We both ignored Danny's protest as I told Doc about Bell. Once in one of the exam rooms I set Bell down on the hard metal table in the center.

Bell immediately started whining pawing at me to pick him back up, "a fox?" Doc asked I nodded Bell settled for me petting his head, "a Branford fox, his back leg is hurting him," I said. Doc nodded moving around the table to look at Bell's back leg. Doc gently took Bell's leg in his hand, Bell started chattering but didn't move.

Doc whistled, "it's a miracle he still has this leg" my heart stopped, "what? why? what's wrong?" Danny asked. Doc gestured for us to move around the table and we did, Doc pointed to several jagged pink scars, "here, he got attacked by a wolf, his leg was most likely broken in the attack it would be healed by now, this injury is years old but I'll take some X-Rays later." No wonder Bell was so scared when we ran into the warriors.

"How do you know it was a wolf? it could've been a dog" Danny asked, Doc shook his head and pointed to several places where the scar on Bell's leg was a circle of a dark red instead of the light pink everywhere else, "here, these are teeth marks and by the size and placement I'd say it was a wolf," Doc leaned in and pursed his lips, "I'd maybe even go as far as to say it was a young werewolf,"

Finally fed up with us manhandling his leg Bell tugged it out of Doc's hand and tucked it under his body, Danny laughed, "I think he's telling us to hurry up" Doc nodded "I'll take him to get an X-Ray and then you'll be on your way,"

After Doc took Bell with him to get X-Rayed Danny started bombarding me with questions mostly about when I'm going to find my mate and how am I gonna rule. I was saved from answering by Doc and Bell entering the room Doc had said fox tucked under one arm and in the other he held several black plastic sheets.

Doc handed Bell off to me and placed the plastic sheet on a white board across the room, he flicked a switch and the board lit up. Doc started pointing at things and telling us what it meant, Bell's leg bone was a thick mass with several bits of white bone floating in his leg, "from the amount of bone growth here, his leg was completely shattered at one time, you can still see bone fragments-" Doc pointed to all the floating bones pieces "-here is scar tissue build up-" Doc said gesturing to a semi see through gray build up on the walls on the leg "-this tissue will cause the leg to be stiff and hard to move at times along with the bone fragments this is probably the cause of Bell's pain,"

After getting several pain medications for Bell and scheduling a later appointment to talk about long term solutions, Danny, Bell and I left.

Kinda long, right? I'm exhausted I started another year of school in 3 days and I'm getting the piss knocked out of me. (Im going back and editing and I have no idea what I meant here, also I'm actually impressed with my writing in this chapter- ssh! Let me dream that my writing is good!)
