Forgotten

             Johnny hummed as he pulled up into his drive way, turning down the radio as he parked. He normally didn't drive his car home or park it, but this time he decided to as he had books and he had heard thunder on his way back.

He hopped out of his car and opened the back seat, cocking an eyebrow at the black bag sitting in his back seat next to his until he noticed the small picture key-chain that had a cat on it. He quickly figured out that it was yours and decided to keep it in that back seat just in case there was fur.

Thunder boomed loudly over him and he jumped, cussing slightly as he grabbed his bag and slammed the door shut before scuttling inside. Johnny quietly muttered to himself as he set down his bag, looking around to make sure everything was in place.

Well, least it looks normal. But which room do I leave the tarp and nails in?

After some time digging around, Johnny walked back feeling rather triumphant as he found the tarp and nails. He quickly hammered it up over his boarded windows as he didn't want his t.v. or books to be harmed as this storm sounded worse than others that had happened recently.

'Well it seems our boy is in a good mood!' Mr.Eff greeted happily.

Johnny huffed and glared at the pieces of painted styrofoam. "Don't even fucking start you two. Let me enjoy peace and quiet again. It actually was rather nice when you two didn't bother me!"

He quickly walked off to his room, picking his bag up on his way. He was rather glad that he still had a window in his room as the rain started trickle down.

Johnny gently pushed everything off his bed, having it all land with soft metal clanks as most of it was either new weapons or new metal designs for his own fashion. He gently sat on it, realizing how long it's been since he's been in here.

He gently chuckled at this before pulling out one of the books he picked up, one that had been recommend by his lovely cashier friend. He quickly was absorbed into the book as it was a rather good book but also the factor of the rain was slowly picking up.

Johnny's eyes soon were getting heavy and he fought to keep them open but soon gave into sleep, it had been over two weeks since he had true sleep.

~~~~~~~
Johnny floated around in what would have been called 'darkness' but it felt like it had depth. He almost felt like he was in space. Small lights flicked around him to almost resemble crude starts, like a child using glitter. He soon  picked  up laughter from both a child and grown ups, it almost sounded like a happy family. The space around him started to glow a warm tan and he looked up at two blurred out faces.
"Good job! It looks just like the night sky!" A male voice complemented what was now a piece of black paper with random globs of glitter and white crayon to make a night sky.
"My little astronomer." A woman's voice cooed and she wrapped herself around him.
He giggled and wrapped his arms around her as well, realizing he was now a kid again.
He almost could make out their faces before he heard screaming; All the happiness, warmth, and love quickly replaced with coldness.
Johnny started to cry as he held onto a quickly cooling body of his mom.
"Mom! Please! Don't go to sleep! Please! Stay awake mom!"
He sobbed into her chest and he felt her pet his hair one more time before it slowly slipped from his hair.
"No! Mom stay with me! Don't go to the stars!"
~~~~~~~~~~

Johnny woke up screaming as he ripped himself from the nightmare. Tears were still streaming down his face as he gripped his pillow.

The thunder outside scared him worse and he hid his face from the world in the pillow as he sobbed harder into the pillow.

After a few hours, he was able to just sit silently before he glanced over to the book he had been reading before he fell into hell.

Johnny didn't blame his friend nor the book for the nightmare, but he also was heavily shaken up from the nightmare. He looked at the window as it was now heavily pouring now.

He slowly shuffled to his back door and opened it, not even bothering with a jacket or shoes. He gently laid himself on the grass and just stayed there. He let the cold seep into him and calm him, erasing all his fear and the nightmare from him until he shuddered to the bone.

Johnny eventually picked himself up, barely able to smile at the almost hole he made in the ground as he made it back inside, now drenched. He pulled everything off before switching to other clothes, hanging up the wet clothes in the bathroom.

He managed to get into the kitchen and avoid the boys and nail bunny. He just wanted to be alone, not thinking of anything. He opened up a cabinet and looked at Mr.  Samsa.

"Just today." Johnny's voice was barely a whisper from both the screaming and sobbing.

He picked up a bag of chips and mad it back to his room. He pulled out a small t.v. from his closet and set it up so then he would have something to mindlessly watch. He couldn't even read at the moment.

Johnny crawled back into bed, under the blankets to try and feel some warmth even if the blanket was rather tattered and thin.  He opened the chips and slowly ate as he watched some random game show that was on, grimacing at how happy and upbeat they all were.  But it as this or random bad ads about god as it was nearly 4 am.

He barely focused on what the how game was about as he shoved more chips until his hand didn't pull out another chip. Johnny then noticed that the game show had been replaced with oh so happy news reporters as they talked about how bad the storm was and how everything was shut down.

Shit! I didn't get their bag to them! Fucking hell!  And their works closed today!

Johnny now fully paid attention as they talked about not fully knowing when this storm would let up, and how it was getting worse. Ads soon came on before the news came back to talk about some random happy story to make people feel better about the shit hole of a world they lived in.

He grumbled as he threw the bag off his bed, not fully caring.  The news soon turned into a day time talk show, which went to some kid's program. Johnny finally got up and shut off the t.v. as clearly it wasn't going to play anything good.

Damn this storm and this world.

Johnny went back to his book he had been reading before hand, wasn't much more he could do until this storm let up.
