Today is the first day of sophomore year for us. We eat breakfast as mom and dad give Addison a 'loving'pep talk about making cheer squad. Yet I'm trying out as well. Maybe they forgot? Oh well. As we walked outside they gave me a sad glance before they shut the door. Ok? That's new. School, that's what I need to focus on, I'll ask what that was about later. Addison and I walk to school with Bucky and the Acies. As we are about to enter I get stopped at the door. "Why are you on this side of the barrier zombie?" A snotty rich blonde kid asked me. "Zombie? Are you talking to me? I'm human." I said with sass dripping from my voice. I look over to Addie to see she has tears in her eyes. "Addie!? What's wrong!? Are you okay?!" I asked frantically. As I reached for her hands she pulled them away with a grimace on her face. "Why are you trying to touch me you freak!?" She screeched as Bucky pushed me to the floor. "What!? I'm your sister! Addie, if this is a joke it's not funny!" I said as tears threatened to spill over my lids. Lacey stalked over to me and pulled on my wig as I screamed and held on. "Stop it zombie! You're going to ruin her nails! Where is your Z-band!?" A zombie patrol officer yelled as she dragged me to a van and placed a z band in my right wrist. "What is going on! I'm not a zombie! Please stop!" I begged as tears streaked my cheeks. She dragged me to the other side of the barrier, down the stairs to the basement and shoved me into the classroom. I fell to the floor with a loud smack as I hit the floor with my face. "Hey, no human students in the basement!" The teacher exclaimed as stars twirled around my eyes. "She's not human! She's part... Of that I cannot say and part zombie. She's not normal, so she has to go here." The officer said, as she was leaving I tried to sit up she kicked me in my stomach before she left. "Are you alright?" A boy asked as I showed my breathing down and the world stopped spinning. "If course she's not alright! She greeted the floor with her face, and a foot came in contact with her stomach! So I doubt she's alright!" A girl scolded as she came to my side. "What did I do wrong?" I sobbed as my tears doubled their pace. "Oh, it's not your fault, this town is just super judgmental to anyone who is different." The girl soothed. "I'm Karaline, what's your name?" I asked. "Eliza, that is Bonzo and that's Zed." She introduced. The teacher gasped. "What?" "Did you say Karaline? Is your last name possibly... Snow?" He guessed as I nodded. His eyes turned dark so I backed away from him. "She killed my brother! If I can't get back at her, I'll just kill you!" He screamed. "Whoa! Hold on! Who is she!?" I asked as my eyes widened with fear. "Your mother! She killed my brother! So now I can kill you!" He hollered as I shrunk. "My mother? You mean the mayor?" I asked incredulously. "No you stupid child! Your biological mother!" He screamed as I looked at him with confusion written all over my face. "I have never met her then... I only know of one mother, and that's the mayor. I'm sorry about your brother, I lost mine as well, and my real dad." I explained sadly. His face changed as if he knew what happened. "She loved your brother, why would she kill him? And let you live, she has hated you since you were born." He said dully as the room gasped and I broke down. Eliza and a few other students gave the teacher a death glare as Bonzo, Zed and Eliza came over to hug me. I gave a small smile as I wrapped my arms around them. Someone soon came through the doors fuming. "You were supposed to kill her! Not just break her! I do that! You just needed to finish her!" A woman with black hair and green eyes screeched as I shrunk down. Zed and Bonzo placed themselves in between me and that woman. "Give her to me and I'll do it! If you don't, I'll kill the rest of you off as well!" She sneered as I ducked lower to turn on my powers. I moved my arms in a certain pattern as my hands started to flicker and glow.

Air, ice, water, and weather are what my left hand controls. Fire, electricity, and earth are what my right hand controls. My go to powers are fire and ice. I lift up my ice hand and told her to leave them alone. My eyes turn a frosty purple and my hair turns a platinum blonde with fiery red tips. My lips go to a dark red, as my clothes change to a deep hypnotizing red crop top, my bottoms, a knee length blue skirt so light it looks white, and my shoes became light purple glass heals.

"Leave them alone, I'm here, do your worse, in this form I can't die. In other words, try me." I said as I slowly floated towards her as her eyes went wide and she tried to shoot me with a gun. Before the bullet even touched me it disintegrated due to the temperature surrounding my body. "Are we done? I mean I can go on for hours." I said confidently as I lied through my teeth. I was starting to get tired but I can't faulter, if I did she'd know so I roll my eyes and look at my nails. I give a little flare so she'd run away, and she did. "Wow Kara!" Eliza exclaimed excitedly, as my magic fled from my body, and my clothes changed back, I groaned in pain and fell, I felt a pair of strong arms catch me. My eyes flutter open to see Zed staring at me with concerned dark brown eyes. "Thank you for catching me..." I said bashfully as my hair covered my reddening face. "You're welcome Kara..." Zed said as he gently set me down in a chair. "Thank you, and I am extremely sorry for wanting to kill you, you have just saved all of us from her." The teacher said sorrowfully. "I wouldn't have needed to save you if I had never come back home, this was all my fault, all of you could have gotten hurt, and if that had happened..." I cried as tears leaked from my eyes. I tried to wipe them away as quick as they fell, but then my arms were pinned. I was squished in a group hug from everyone in class.

"Hey, just a question, but if I can't go home, where am I supposed to live?" I asked as everyone was about to go home. "You can come live with me and my family Kara, if you'd like?" Zed offered as the bell rang. "Ok, let's go. Lead the way! Whoa!" I exclaimed as I fell to my knees clutching my head. This happens every time I use my powers, super migraine. "Are you ok?! What happened?!" Zed panicked as he rushed to my side. I had to laugh a little at this. "I'm ok, it happens every time I use my powers. It's alright, just a little migraine..." I said, it got worse so I clenched my teeth and squeezed my eyes shut. Though I did stop tightening up when Zed gently scooped me up bridal style into his arms and carried me to his house. No matter how much I objected to it, he told me to "Stop being so stubborn, and let me help you! Kara, I don't want you to hurt yourself anymore, and its my thanks to you for saving the class today. So please?" He begged with the sad puppy eyes. Damn. "Fine... But this is the last only time you will ever get to carry me, ok?" I asked stupidly knowing he'd probably do it again. He nodded and carried me to his house.
