Care and concern for who?
Jimin held Chaeyoung's hands in his.
"Chaeyoungie, I missed you so much. Every day without you was like hell for me. You were the only one that could make me smile. And when you... you... left, I couldn't find my reason to smile. And now, the second I thought I had found that reason again, it perishes," Jimin said.
"I'm so sorry," Chaeyoung said, tearing.
"I'm so, so very sorry," she said, this time, she was releasing all the sadness that was engulfed in her.
All her sorrow, her longing for finding the piece that was missing.
Her memory of this man, that seemed to have played a very important role in her past.
And even though her mind has forgotten him, her heart couldn't bear to do so.
He seemed so familiar in many ways, and that thought scared her.
It scared her to think that she couldn't remember something that had happened before.
"Don't be sorry, I understand," Jimin says.
At this point, both of them were sobbing.
They were crying.
And it did not feel pathetic.
It did not feel like they had surrendered and had lost.
No, it felt somehow good.
They were letting all their frustrations, anger, sadness, and longing out.
It felt so liberating.
All the sadness within Chaeyoung vanishes.
She feels free.
"Do you really?" Chaeyoung asks.
She knew it would be hard for him to understand what she was going through.
The apple of his eye, the only woman he ever laid his eyes upon.
She, Park Chaeyoung, had forgotten him.
"I may not understand what you're going through, but I can empathize with you. Whatever pain you're feeling, share it with me. If two of us share the same load, it'll be lighter," Jimin says, tearing up after he stopped sobbing.
Chaeyoung was touched.
This man.
This man had waited for her.
They were both victims of car accidents.
Chaeyoung forgot him, and he loved her.
Yes, Chaeyoung's injuries were way more severe, but it didn't give her any excuses to forget him.
That was what she thought.
She felt bad.
"I'll win you back, as clichéd as this sounds. Take my word for it, I will do my best and eventually succeed," Jimin says.
Chaeyoung looks up to him, the look in his eyes.
Love and affection.
Care and concern.
All these emotions were easily detected by Chaeyoung just by one look in his deep hazelnut irises.
They were so captivating.
The hooded lids, they played a factor in making his eyes look so soft but bold at the same time.
The way his eye bags shaped his eyes, as if they were hugging it.
It was all perfect, at least to Chaeyoung.
"I will pursue you again, Park Chaeyoung," Jimin whispers, so soft that only the two of them could hear it.
Of course, it wasn't like it made any difference as there were only the two of them at that point of time.
"Wait for me Jimin, wait for me," Chaeyoung said, and hugged him.
"I will, because that's what I failed to do before," he whispers.
