I got bored last night and I couldn't sleep so here is a random chapter 1 for some story I may never write. Enjoy!
"Come on, Trix! Hang in there!" A masculine voice said from beside me as I watched the white ceiling move above me.
"Sir, you need to wait here!" A woman said in a calm voice.
"I need to know if she's going to be okay!" The man sounded frantic.
"I need you to calm down, Sir. We're getting her treated right away," She said in the same calm voice as before.
Before I heard the man's response two doors closed cutting me off from the conversation. I tried moving to look around me, but was unable. I started breathing in quick breathes as I started to feel pain all over my body.
"She's going into shock, quick we need to get her to the Operating Room," Someone said as I felt the pain getting worse in my stomach area. I looked around at the four people surrounding me.
I'm turned into a room that was dark expect for some spotlight in the center of the room.
"Put her under now," the same person as before said as I saw the people who surrounded me put masks that covered their mouths and noses. They put caps over their heads and gloves on their hands.
I felt something stab into my arm. I looked over to see one of the people had put a needle into my arm and was injecting me with some liquid. I didn't struggle against it due to the pain that heated my body.
"She's going under, we need to start the operation as soon as possible," the person said as the room began to grow dark.
Everything seemed to disappear into an empty abyss of darkness.
*****
I was walking in a field filled with red roses. The sky was dark but it wasn't night and there weren't any clouds.
I looked down at myself to see a long, red dress that seemed to match the roses. I, then looked around the endless field, hoping to find something somewhere in the distance.
After a short while, the wind began to blow making the roses away as if dancing to some silent music.
Suddenly, the rose petals began to peel away, turning into pieces of burning ember as they reached the sky.
I looked around the field again but instead of an endless horizon of roses, I saw walls of fire.
My eyes began to water as the flames began to move inward, trapping me in their cage like a phoenix.
I screamed but no sound came out almost like I had no voice to use.
In the time of my soundless screams, I felt something slipping into my hand, pulling me away from the firey nightmare.
*****
I slowly opened my eyes as I felt my hand begin to feel a comforting warm.
"There she is," a familiar masculine voice coaxed softly. "How you feeling, Sweetheart?"
It was the same voice as the guy from before that was frantic and worried. I looked over at the man that held my left hand in both of his.
A sweet smile crossed his lips as he saw me looking at him. He pressed a kiss to top of my hand the turned it over and pressed one to the palm.
"I thought I had lost you too," he said resting his cheek in my palm. He closed his eyes but not before I saw the tears begin to form in them.
"I feel fine," I said smiling at him. "What happened?" I added looking around the hospital room before returning my eyes him.
He opened his eyes and looked at me worriedly. "Do you not remember?"
I shook my head, "I don't remember anything before arriving at the hospital," I said then remembered a statment he had made when I had first woke up. "And was did you mean when you said you had lost me too?"
He looked at me sadly, "Someone broke into your house and they stabbed you three times in the stomach. They slit your wrists and left you there to bleed to death," he explained slowly.
He went silence for a moment before continuing on. "You were downstairs in the living room when you were attacked but before they attacked you, they-" he stopped unable to speak through his tears.
I felt as the tears began to spill from my own eyes. "They what, Owen? What did they do?" I asked knowing it was something worse they what I was thinking.
"They went upstairs and killed Oliver," I heard from the other side of the room.
I looked over to the door to see my older brother, Dakota. He had a look of despair clouding his chocolate brown eyes.
Images of my little brother filled my mind. His smile, his laugh, his everything filled me with a hollowness that made me feel like an empty pit.
"I was out with Owen, when I should have been at the house to protect you guys," Dakota scoffed leaning his head against the doorframe. "I could've saved our brother."
"You couldn't have known," Owen said recollecting himself. He wiped the tears from his eyes.
I looked down at my hand that rested in my lap. No one could have known that Dakota wouldn't be home. No one could have known that there were men that were going to kill my little brother and almost kill me. No one could have known that any of these things were going to happen.
Except for the people who ordered it.
Hope you enjoyed my random chapter 1. I have many of these to I might end up making a random book for them.
