Chapter 7: Love by the Lake (Part 1)

"Kai, I would really appreciate if you could tell me where we're going." Naira looked up at him, half annoyed and half confused. "Just wait, princess." Kai moved his hand up from her waist into the curve of her hip. Naira jumped a slight bit and blushed.

 "D-don't let those hands wander, Kai!" Naira stuttered, blinking. "Who says I won't?" Kai leaned down and whispered into her ear, stopping at the front of a large and majestic lake.

 "Oh wow.." Naira removed her cloak and sat by the shore in wonder. She let her ears and tail pop out, smiling. "It's beautiful, Kai. When did you find this?" She looked up at Kai who was now sitting next to her. "A few weeks ago. I knew you would like it." He gently played with Naira's hair before she smacked his hand away. "I know what you're trying. Do not." She smiled up at him knowingly. "You're as smart as you are adorable." Kai gently kissed her temple and stood, going to do whatever he had to.

 Naira smiled, giggling. "Who knew Kai could be such a charmer?" She gazed at the lake, smiling at it's midnight blue waters and the way they sparkled in the sun. She closed her eyes and felt herself drift into relaxation as she meditated.

 The peaceful silence was soothing. Naira slowly let her memories flash behind her eyes, smiling.

 There was one memory that stood out to her though. It was the first time she met Kai.

 In the memory, Naira seemed no older than 7.

 She was sitting alone on the grass while all the other nixai children were playing. Her long, dark brown hair was tied into a ponytail.

She slowly looked up to find a nixie boy who looked no older than 8 staring at her. Naira gave him a challenging glare. The boy jumped, thought for a moment, and quickly walked over, handing Naira a flower. "Um, who are you, and why are you giving me a flower?" She slowly took it, still looking at the boy. "I'm Kai, and I think you're really pretty." Kai smiled. Naira blushed in shock. The memory ended, and Naira smiled.

Is it just me, or are there sparks flying? Because things seem to be getting pretty hot between Naira and Kai!! I wonder what'll happen next chapter. Wait, I'm the author. So I already know. Guess you guys will have to wait. Comment your guesses down below! Bye my darlings!
