Shatter and Cedar finally arrived at camp. The king glanced at them and motioned them over lazily.

Shatter set Cedar down carefully before helping her over to the large throne. "Your majesty." Shatter bowed as Cedar painfully did the same.

"Why has Cedar come back injured?" The king asked, inspecting Cedar with his chin high. "She fell on glass crystals, sir." Shatter explained respectfully. "Oh well, tell the nurse to heal her up and leave it at that." The king shrugged.

"Also, father, if I may speak?" Shatter questioned before the king nodded. "We found a dead warrior outside of camp. He seemed brutally killed and scarred." Shatter looked up at his father, waiting for a response. "Meh, leave it for the wolves. A death is a death." The king rolled his eyes casually. Cedar glared at him with pure hostility. "Take her to the nurse as I ordered. I have more important things to tend to." The king waved them away with his hand.

Shatter bowed and half dragged Cedar to the nurse. "I know he's the king and he has very important matters to tend to, but couldn't he make some time for the tribe to mourn my brother?" Cedar growled. "Look, let's get you to the nurse before you start leading a rebellion." Shatter half joked. "Who says I won't?" Cedar smiled mischievously up at Shatter. "You're too cute sometimes." Shatter ran his finger across Cedar's cheek and kept leading her to the nurse.

Cedar smiled and looked down, her face just as red as her hair. I'm.. 'cute'? That's new. Cedar thought, curling her hair around her finger."I find myself as adorably amusing rather than cute," she giggled. "Mhm. Think what you want. But you're adorable. Now get inside so you can get those wounds healed."Shatter gently nudged her inside the nurse's area as he walked off, a boyish grin plastered across his face.
