the fourth"I I-Um," I stuttered staring at my parents who leaned on the door frame their arms crossed. "I was out with my friends," I sighed. There was no getting out of this.
"Well let me tell you this, your grounded for the rest of the summe-" My mother started. A sharp pain in hit my jaw as my father smacked me.
"No, No you are a fucking disgrace, disobeying all are rules when we feed you and give you an education!" He spat furiously. My mother stood there her eyes wide with shock, yes she was horrible but she would never say such things to me. My father came up and slapped my face with such force it moved back and forth as he did so.
I could feel it sting my cheeks began to bruise. That was going to need to be covered later.
"You are grounded." My mother said shutting the door. I sat down on my bed shaking. Whatever was going on in the town seemed to be effecting my parents as well.
"You stupid little bitch!" My father spat. My eyes shot up, confused. He just left the room. Then it hit me. This was the thing the was It. What came next hit me hard. My fathers mouth opened up wide. Spiders began to crawl out of his mouth. All kinds small, big, fat, hairy. My heart rate sped up as I stumbled backwards trying to avoid the spiders that had begun crawling on the floor. A tiny black spider crawled onto my arm. I froze, my eyes opened wide. A blood curdling scream escaped my lips. I rushed down the hall into my brothers room. He wasn't in his room so I quickly shut the door. I slid down the frame and buried my head in my hands. I took in deep breaths hoping to calm myself down. The two things I hated most in this world, together.
After a few minutes I gained enough courage to slowly open the door and peer into the hallway. Silent and empty. I cautiously left the room and proceeded down the hallway into my room. Nothing was there, almost like it never happened. But it did, I know it did.
That night my dreams were plagued with the events of the day. I tossed and turned never finding a comfortable position to sleep.
Luckily day came after what seemed like hours of dark. My mother came into the room at 7 in the morning.
"Get up, your preforming today remember?" She told me pulling the covers off. I shuddered from the sudden coldness and sat up just in time to catch the clothes she threw at me. I blinked.
She walked out of the room. I sighed and slipped on the clothes she gave me. It was red dress that was hemmed right above the knee. I pulled my hair back into a side braid. Of course she puts me red, not blue, something which would suit me better.
"Come on lets go!" Someone called from downstairs. I quickly ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth before running downstairs.
Once I got in the car I realised what I was preforming. The Star Spangled Banner, in front of Derry Township. My stomach sunk, suddenly becoming nauseous. Nervousness coursed through my veins. I sat twiddling my thumbs trying to distract myself from the racing of my heart. I hardly ever sang in front of large sums of people. It was usually smaller crowds like the school talent show.
