The Quarry

I headed to Roses house with nothing but a small bag filled with my toothbrush and my clothes for tomorrow. I would have to remember to thank James tomorrow. The Lewis house wasn't far from mine, thank goodness, because my parents refused to drive me.

"Hi Rose," I smiled when she opened the door.

"Val!" She exclaimed. "I totally didn't just see you an hour ago," she sang with a small wink. She let me in and upstairs to her room. I set my bag down in a chair before plopping onto her bed. The soft fabric engulfed me, making me wish my bed felt the same way.

"So what are we going to do?" I asked, sitting up.

"Were going to go to the movies!" She spoke excitedly. My eyes widened, I had never been to the movies.

"What are we seeing?" I asked her, now intrigued.

"Ghostbusters II. It came out today."

"Yay," I smiled.

Janet drove us to the Aladdin theater. I was beyond excite. I had never been to a movie theater before. A silly thing to be excited about, but when you've never been to the silver screen it was enthralling.

"Thank you mom," Rose said waving goodbye to her mom. "And now we wait." Rose said looking at her watch. My brows furrowed, looking over at her.

"Wait for who?" I asked, leaning against the brick siding. I didn't really care who it was because my excitement would out weight anything.

"Richie and Eddie." Except them.

"What why them?" I whined my arms folding over my chest.

"Because someone needs to get over there dislike of a certain Tozier." Rose told me, making sure to emphasize the point.

"Fine, but im not sitting by him."

I was sitting next to him. Rose forced me to even though I told her I didn't want to. I shifted uncomfortably, trying my best to create a distance. The screen lit up and the previews started playing.

"Im going to get popcorn, anyone want anything?" I asked standing up.

"Oo get me an ice cream cone." Rose chirped handing me a 5 dollar bill.

"Im good," Eddie said. I sighed, not wanting to ask the boy next to me.

"Richie anything?"

"Yeah, but ill just go with you and help carry." He said standing up. I groaned internally not wanting to be near the annoying trashmouth. Reluctantly I followed him out of the theater.

"Can I have a butter popcorn and a chocolate cone?" I asked, the man nodded getting the food.

"That'll be 4.99," I reached into my pocket to get the money that Rose had just given me.
