Chapter One

~ Thought It Was A Party ~

After saying our multiple goodbyes and several 'call-me-when-your-flight-lands', my dad finally leaves and I hand the woman my ticket and toss my carry on bag over my shoulder and make my way down the hallway boarding the plane.

"Damn it." I remember that I was supposed to tell my dad to drop off a package I need to send back that came to the wrong address. Stopping and pulling my phone out of my bag I walk back towards the ticket woman.

"I'm sorry but can I make a quick phone call?" I ask nicely towards the young blonde.

"Yeah sure, but be quick we're about to board any minute." she says smiling directing me towards the sitting area where I was just minutes ago.

I thank her and walk over to the row of chairs quickly turning my phone back on.

"8%? But I just charged it!" I groan and quickly text my dad knowing my phone will give out any moment.

Directly after I hit send and it indicated the message has been delivered it dies.

Go figure.

"All passengers boarding flight 36A to Los Angeles now boarding." The female voice calls over the speakers and a rush of people pushing to board the plane blocks me out of getting to the entrance until I notice the tickets woman I spoke to, is in the next flight entrance over.

I'm waiting to board the wrong flight. I shake my head at my self and jog over to the entrance and quickly walking in looking quickly for my seat.

When I finally find it, of course I end up sitting next to the attractive guy that's just great. I bet he's friendly too. Just my luck. I sigh and prepare for the most uncomfortable flight of a life time.

Why is that uncomfortable you may ask? Let's just say I'm not the best a meeting new people by myself and I'm not too keen on awkward small talk and finding ways to liven conversations especially for hours at a time. I can't wait to hear the weird stuff I'm about to say.

"Excuse me." I clear my throat and he sits up looking directly at me.

"Uhhh...can I have me seat or..?"

I laughed after he stares for ten seconds at me like my nose is on my forehead or something.

"Oh. Yeah...sorry." he laughs moving to get up so I can't sit down.

Window seat. Yesssss.

"Sorry about that." he laughs taking his seat again.

"It's cool." I smile awkwardly.

See this is why I hate flying alone. The awkward seating arrangements with strangers.

"I'm Cole." he says he motions towards himself.

Of course you are I laugh in my head. This guy is the most typical Prep school guy, from the shirt to his shoes to his hair. And usually I don't mind that, but there was just something about this guy that made me already wanna jump off this plane and he haven't even taken off yet.

"Brooke."

"Well, Brooke this is gonna be the best 7 hour flight if your life." He said putting his arm around my shoulder and I laugh.

Cocky much.

"First," I said removing his 'sun-kissed' more like sun burnt, arm from my shoulders. "this is a 5 hour flight so do the math."
