I wake up in an old building. I have no idea where this is.

The building to put it nicely is completely falling apart. There are sections of the roof that are gone. There are also sections of the wall missing. There is a thick layer of dust throughout the whole building. And there is moss growing on what is left of the walls. I get up and brush the dust off of my cloths. I walk outside and look around.

The city was obviously New York. But... not the New York I know. It is then that I realize... I am completely alone.

Half of the city is wiped off the face of the earth. The Empire State Building is gone. The only reason that I can tell that it is New York is because half of Avengers Tower is still there. The other half is gone with the city. 

I start to hyperventilate as I cannot see anyone.

Pull yourself together Ellie. This is the monophobia doing this not you.

I walk along one of the streets that are left trying to get to the tower. I have to hope that something will be there to help me.

On my way there I spot a kid walking all alone. The kid stares at me before going white like she had seen a ghost. The kid runs away and I cannot help but wonder why the kid acted like that.

I walk to the tower without further incident. I walk in the half destroyed doors careful not to step off the edge. I walk around for a bit before I see movement ahead of me.

"Hello?" I call.

"Ellie?" the person who moved says coming out of the shadows.

"Haley... Do you know what is going on?" I ask.

"No... I woke up in an abandoned building about a block away from here." Haley says.

"The same thing happened to me... but mine was further way." I say.

"Did your monophobia get to you?" Haley asks.

"I pulled myself together. Did you find anything that might tell us where we are?" I ask.

"No. but I want to check out the apartment. It was on the side that is still here." Haley says and I nod.

We walk towards the apartment while looking around.

"Have you seen anyone?" Haley asks.

"Only a little girl. She went as white as a sheet when she saw me." I say.

"That's strange... I haven't seen anyone." Haley says.

We walk some more. I only stop when a news paper blows in my face. I take it off of my face and look at it. 

"Haley!" I say.

"What is it Ellie?" Haley asks. 

"This paper... it is dated April 27, 2019..." I say.

"But wasn't the date August 11, 1999?" Haley asks?

"Yeah... Let's not think about it and keep walking..." I say.

We get to the apartment. Right in front of it is an altor.

"That's not creepy at all..." Haley says.

"I am going to check it out." I say. 

I walk towards it. I kneel down in front of it and brush the dust off. Haley stands beside me watching.

"Bring out the powers that lie within. Hear our call to rise above. Help us save the earth's end." I read.

The altor glows blue, and green mist shoots out in front of us then covers us. I feel a weird sensation, like electricity moving around inside me, before I find myself out of that haze. The haze clears to show Haley surrounded by shards of ice. 

I watch as lightning strikes the ice shattering it. I run over to Haley and help her to her feet, she had fallen to the ground when the lightning struck. 

"I think that I made that ice. And I think it was a safe bet to say that you made the lightning." Haley says.

"I think that I lightning traveled. One moment I was in the haze and then I felt weird and was out of the haze." I say.

"So that means that it gave us more power!" We both say at the same time. 

I look around as I get the feeling that we are being watched. I see a woman in a cloak walk to us.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"That does not matter. This is a picture of what will happen to the earth if something is not stopped. All this destruction... all the death... it will all be real... unless someone can stop it. Now the only way to stop it is if you can change something that will happen. And the only way that can happen is if you can get out of this place. The only way out of this place is if you face your fears..." The woman says slowly turning to dust. "Only you can change this... only you can save the universe..." Then the woman is gone.

"Face our fears..."
