"Bang! Bang! I shot you in the knee, now you have to limp." Jonathan ordered Evan after he aimed his toy gun at his best friend's knee. Evan didn't complain, he never did with Jonathan, and he dragged his leg a bit as he ran behind the couch.

He lifted his toy gun over to top of the couch and pointed it at Jonathan. "Bang!" he shouted. Jon ducked like something was actually fired at him. "Dodged it, you should fix your aim." he commented and ran to get under the living room table. Most of the time, Evan "missed" and Jon hit him every time. The were playing "Wild West" as they called it. In the game they were enemy cowboys and the town wasn't big enough for the both of them so they had to shoot each other down. They took some cowboy hats from Jon's mother's closet, Jon had the black hat and Evan had the white one, and they borrowed Luke's nerf guns but didn't use the darts so they wouldn't have to stop and search for them.

Evan never won this game, but he didn't care because it made Jon happy and he still had fun.

"Okay, cowboys! You'll need to continue this showdown later, because lunch is ready. Jon, go get Luke from his room." Lucille ordered her son. As Jon ran to get his older brother, Evan took off his cowboy hat and set down the toy gun then calmly sat at the table. The table only had three chairs, Lucille always offered to get another chair from the porch, but Evan and Jon liked to share a seat so they could whisper jokes to each other while eating.

Jon came back to the kitchen, Luke in tow, and squeezed onto the seat with Evan, their bodies warming each other. Luke sat across from them and Lucille sat at the end of the table.

Luke talked about how Ryan and he played fetch and were trying to teach Ryan's dog how to sit, then Evan turned to whisper in Jon's ear. "Luke and Ryan sitting in a tree!" Jon giggled then started laughing uncontrollably, making Evan laugh as well. Luke glared at them suspiciously.

"What did you say?" Luke asked. Evan opened his mouth but Jon cut in, still laughing, "Luke and Ryan sittin in a tree!" Evan laughed harder but Luke slammed his fork down.

"Ma! Tell em to shut up! Dats nasty!" Luke complained. Lucille tried to cover her giggles. "Now boys, don't tease Luke just for liking his friend." Luke whined, "Maaaa!" and Lucille gave him a guilty smile. Evan and Jon kept laughing.

"While you two like each other!" Luke snapped. Jon nodded and Evan smiled. "Yeah, I like Evan! He's my best friend!" Evan nodded along and hugged Jon. "You're my best friend too!" Jon hugged back. "Awww! Thank you!" Luke fake gagged and Lucille watched in amusement.

"What is tic tac toe?" David asked in confusion. Brian was also confused but didn't want to ask so they wouldn't laugh at him.

"Are you serious?" Tyler asked, looking up from the piece of paper that he was playing the mentioned game on with Craig. Craig just laughed.

"What is it?" David asked again. Brian looked down at the paper and realized it was just X's and o's. Guess they called it tic tac toe in America.

"Are you stupid?" Tyler asked teasingly. Craig frowned at him, "Be nice!" David nodded. "Just cause I ain't the smartest don't make me dumb!" Brian hid his giggles and patted David's back. "That's right, Davey, you're not dumb." David gave him a smile, not hearing the sarcasm. "Tanks, Brian!"

Craig laughed. "Well tic tac toe is just trying to get three x's or o's in a row." David looked at the paper then laughed.

"Oooh! It's just x's and o's then! You shoulda said that!" Everyone laughed together.

"Alright! So here are the rules for this game," Evan began to explain. It was raining outside so they had to have indoor recess, and the teacher was letting them use the classroom and hallway as long as they didn't enter other classrooms and came back when called.
