I'm back! Sorry for the wait!

---------------------

Ryan was so excited about his first day at public school that he convinced his parents and Luke's mom, who adores him, to let him spend the night with Luke and Jonathan. He woke up way before he was supposed to because it was dark out and Luke was dead asleep in the bed, cuddling a pillow. Ryan got up anyway, his onesie bunny pajamas softening his footsteps as he wondered down the dark hall.

He was definitely happy about his first day, but he couldn't deny how scared he was too. He didn't have many friends, or any, besides Luke and Jonathan and he worried that Luke's other friends wouldn't like him. He didn't want to cry in front of Luke or Jonathan so he ended up at Lucille's door, knocking then pushing open the door slowly.

"Ms. Patterson?" Ryan called out quietly. Lucille snored softly, her mop of hair sticking out from under the thick blanket. Ryan waddled to the side of the bed and shook Lucille's hand. "Ms. Patterson?" Lucille grunted and opened her dark eyes slowly.

"Hm... Ryan?" her voice was hoarse and sleepy but she sat up, smoothing down her hair. Ryan hugged himself and nodded. "I'm scared.." Lucille cooed at him and reached out her hands, inviting the boy onto the bed. Ryan quickly crawled onto the bed and sat next to the woman he thought of as a second mom. She hugged him and ruffled his hair.

"Did you have a nightmare? It's okay, honey." Ryan sniffled, not sure why he was crying. Lucille was such a sweet woman, there to comfort anyone. Ryan's parents were often busy and he had a babysitter and tutor to watch him.

"I'm scared of school.." Ryan whimpered, burying his head into Lucille's side and enjoying her warmth.

"Oh, hon. It's alright to be scared, everyone is scared of something, but school isn't bad. My boys 'll take care of ya. You'll make more friends too, Luke's friends are all great kids." She assured the child, rubbing his back as he sniffled.

"Will they really be my friends?" he asked. "Are the teachers nice too?" Lucille nodded with a soft smile. "Really nice. Everyone will be friendly, I promise." Ryan was going to ask more questions but he heard loud and frantic footsteps entering the room.

"MA! RYAN DISSAPPEARED!" Luke shouted, Jonathan stood behind him clutching a brown teddy bear and crying.

"Ohm wasn't in Cartoonz's room or the bathroom or-" "Shhh! It's alright, boys. Ohm is right here." Lucille patted Ryan's back as the boy wiped his hazel eyes.

Luke and Jon gasped then ran over to get on the bed as well. Jon grabbed one of Ryan's arms while Luke hugged the boy to his body. "We thought ya disappeared like a ghost!" Luke sighed. "Or that a killer got you!" Jon added and hugged his teddy bear harder. Ryan hugged the brothers and smiled.

"I'm okay! No killer got me!" he assured, making the other boys giggle. Lucille shook her head but hugged the three kids.

"You need to stop watching all those scary movies!" They all laughed together. Eventually the three kids fell asleep, all snuggled up together. Lucille snapped a picture for Ryan's mom then set an alarm and went to sleep as well.

"Does my hair look cool?" Ryan asked for the fifth time as they all waited for the bus with Gorilla. Jon giggled, Gorilla rolled his eyes, and Luke nodded with a smirk.

"Ya look awesome, don't worry. You can sit with Gorilla and I." Ryan wasn't normally going to be on the bus, his father would drive him, but he wanted to be with his friends as much as he could for his first day.

The bus started to drive closer and Ryan clutched onto Luke's sleeve, practically hiding behind the slightly taller boy. Nobody else was on the bus yet so Ryan let go of Luke. They told Ryan all about the school on their way to the next stop and introduced the now shy boy to all their friends who got on.

Ryan was still hesitant with the other boys, going through most of the day hiding behind Luke or following Jonathan. He wasn't the only new kid though, a small Canadian boy named Jaren(he said to call him Smitty) was also new. Evan got along with the Smitty fast, both being Canadians.

By lunch he was laughing with the guys and Anthony invited him to a playdate on Wednesday. He had plans with Luke at the park but Luke said it was totally fine for Ryan to play with Anthony so they could be better friends.

Ryan quickly bonded with Craig and Smitty, Craig was super kind to him and Smitty was also a new kid with a weird sense of humor that Ryan enjoyed. By the end of the day, the brunette couldn't wait for tomorrow.

"Bye Tyler! Buh-bye Craig! Bye Scotty, bye Marcel, bye David, bye Brian! Bye Evan! Byeeee Jonny!" Ryan waved to everyone. Luke stopped before getting on the bus and hugged Ryan. "See ya tomorrow, Ohmie." "Yeah, bye Toonzy!" Smitty waved bye to the guys on the bus then turned to say goodbye to Ryan, the younger boy's aunt was waiting by a white car.

"Welp, I'll try to wake up and come to school. Not used to the change in time yet." Ryan nodded, seeing his father pull up next to the curb.

"I hope you wake up on time, it's easier when I'm not the only new kid." Smitty nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. I've got to go, Aunt Lauren is waiting and we have to get my sister from the middle school. But you're a cool dude, Ryan." Ryan smiled shyly. "Thanks! Bye, Smitty!" and both boys walked their separate ways.

"How many friends did you make today, Ryan? Were Luke's friends nice?" Ryan hummed a yes as he buckled himself into the back seat.

"Best day ever! I've made friends with Craig, and Anthony, and Evan, and that boy I was just talking to is new too, his name is Jaren but we call him Smitty, and I made tons more friends too! Can I go over to Anthony's house on Wednesday?" He spoke so fast, his hazel eyes sparkling.

His dad chuckled and smiled at his son in the mirror.  "Best day ever, huh? I'll need to meet Anthony's parents and talk to Momma bear first, but it'll be a yes." This is part of why Ryan loved his father so much. "Smitty seems pretty young, he's your age?" Ryan nodded, "Uh-huh, almost a year younger but he's in my class." Ryan's dad began to drive but they continued to chat about Ryan's first day the whole way home.
