Sam knew he didn't have an excuse to  give his mom and she was impatiently waiting to see what he would come up with.

She heard almost every single excuse in the book and she just wanted to see what new ones he would come up with.

"Well Samuel....I'm waiting."

Sam thought long and hard about it and he came up with one he thought would be a good one. He took a deep breath and looked at his mom with a serious expression.

"It wasn't even a party. We were all just doing a group project for school." He though he was a genius.

There is no way his mom wasn't going to believe him after he pulled the school card. It always works.

She looked at him intensely and Sam thought that she wasn't buying his story. To his surprise she started laughing and he couldn't help himself but to chuckle along with her. All according to plan he thought. Maybe his mom wasn't as smart as-

"Two weeks without the car."

"What the hell...I just told you we were doing a group proje-

"One month."

"Yes ma'am."

And with that, Sam grabbed his bag and rushed out the house to endure the long walk of shame to school. He cursed under his breath as he thought that pulling the school card would give him the advantage.

The walk to school was long and the heat was not helping. All of a sudden he blinked and a cold gust of wind made him moan in delight and shiver at the same time. He looked around and once again saw little droplets of snow falling and melting as they touchdown.

He saw people looking at him with different glances he knew all too well. Pity, kindness, and resentment. He hated all of them and their judgemental looks. They don't know anything about him or what goes on in his life except for what he shows on the surface. Who do they think they are judging him and his life?

"What the fuck are you looking at?" He spat at them but when he blinked, he didn't see anyone except for a stray puppy in a box at the side of the road.

Confusion laced his face as he looked around and saw nothing but sunlight, trees and the empty parking lot of his school. It was a sign that school had already started.

"I must be losing my fucking mind." He thought as he looked at the pup, who only cocked his head to the side and look at Sam.

Sam ignored the pup and rushed inside the school and praying that he wasn't too late for his Math class. His teacher didn't like him too much because of all the pranks Sam pulled on her.

He opened the door and the teacher's back was facing him. He tried to quietly sneak past her but she spoke without even looking back.

"Nice of you to join us Mr. Clarke." Ms. Pennington sounded unamused.

"Sorry miss, I was just helping a stray puppy out on the streets." It wasn't a complete lie. Just 97%. The girls in the room all awwwed while the guys all roll their eyes knowing it was all a bunch of crap.

"Well you and that stray puppy can be together in detention later on." The class laughed when they saw Sam's facial expression.

"Bitch." Sam muttered under his breath as he took his seat at the back of the classroom.

As Ms. Pennington was going through the torture known as trigonometry, Sam's thoughts drifted to earlier.

Does he miss winter that bad or was his hangover messing with him. It should be clearing up since he took some advil while on his way to school.

His mind went blank as it drifted off into nothingness before he heard a voice speak up.

"Would anyone like to answer this problem?" He looked around and saw that he was in a different classroom.

"Ok since no one wants to answer...how about you Ms. Jackson." Sam looked to his right and saw a girl he never saw before picked up her head off the desk.

She looked awful and rather be in her bed than here at school.

"I don't know sir." She spoke through gritted teeth.

"That's because you had your head on the desk." Man this dude was a dick.

Wait...since when was Ms. Pennington a dude Sam thought.

"Then why the bloody hell would you pick on me if you knew I was paying attention." She had a heavy british accent.

The whole classroom was silent as they stared at the girl in shock. I guess they weren't used to her shouting like that. Neither did she because as soon as the words left her mouth, her eyes widened and she was speechless.

"Detention." Was all the teacher said before going back to the board. The girl sat back in her seat and groaned into her sweater.

Sam laugh so hard that everyone turned around to look at him in confusion. When he settled down, he noticed that there wasn't a girl beside him but a small nerdy boy who looked at him like he had growned 3 heads. Ms. Pennington's face was red from anger and Sam just gave her a sweet fake smile then looked down at his blank notebook.

Sam didn't care about the lesson. He had only one thing on his mind.

What the hell was happening to me?
