Destiny opened the doors that lead to the hallways, students either running frantically or walking effortlessly to their respective classes. It's been months since she last set foot in this place and she felt like an alien. Last time she was here, she had a mental breakdown and teachers and students had to carry her out.
Under normal circumstances she would have felt embarrased, but she felt numb that day. Even to this day, she is trying to over come that numbness by trying to avoid all type of lifeform in this spaceship called high school. She just wants to finish her senior year and graduate so she can move to America and have a fresh start.
She hurried to get to her first class which was trigonometry. She always wondered why people should take that class when 90% would go on to take jobs that would have absolutely no need for trig.
As she turned a corner, she bumped into someone and fell on the floor. Her stomach did a flip and let's just say it wasn't pleasant. She look up at who she bumped into and the color drained from her face.
Staring down at Destiny was her former best friend and queen bee of the school Alexis Summers.
They were so close that they knew basically everything about each other. They met during freshman year and they were inseperable...or so Destiny thought. When Destiny was down and almost out for the count, she needed someone to be there for her. She needed her best friend. But she wasn't there.
"Well well well." Alexis voice dripped with venom.
Destiny simply got up and kept her head down as she tried to walk past Alexis and her 2 followers but she was pulled back and pushed into the locker.
"Aren't you forgetting to say something to me?" Destiny simply kept her head down. She hated confrontation.
"S-sorry." She barely whispered.
"I can't hear you. All that time you spent in your little mental hospital, they turned you into a mute?" Alexis smirked as she saw Destiny's bottom lip quivered. A sign that she was close to crying.
"I said that I'm sorry. Now leave me alone Alexis." Destiny said as she pushed past the 3 and walked to the bathroom.
She went into one of the stalls and sat on the toilet while a sob escaped her lips. She hated feeling weak and she hated that Alexis knew exactly what to say to get her like this. She just wished someone would just help her become strong. She wanted to be able to stand up for her self.
After spending about 10 minutes trying to compose herself, she walked into class while all eyes were on her.
The teacher, who looked to be new, was not looking impressed at all.
"You must be miss Jackson. This isn't a very good first impression don't you think." He raised an eyebrow at her.
Her cheeks went red and she mumbled a quick apology as she hurried to her seat. Way at the back.
"Next time don't be late for my class." He turned and wrote his name on the board, Mr. Micheals.
Destiny was tired and her cramps were becoming worst by the minute.
She started to think about how her life would have been different if she hadn't been away for 6 months. Would Alexis still be her best friend instead of this bully who has a hidden grude against her?
While in thought, she put her head on her desk and her mind drifted into nothingness as she heard a voice speak up.
"Nice of you to join us Mr. Clarke." A middle aged lady spoke without looking back at a tall guy. He looked like he was trying to sneak past but he was way too tall to go unnoticed.
"Sorry miss. I was helping a stray puppy out on the streets." Destiny could hear awws and chuckles in the classroom.
She was confused as to why such a nice gesture was receiving mixed reviews.
"Well you and that stray puppy can be together in detention later on." Destiny thought that this teacher was such a bitch.
Wait....since when was Mr. Micheals a female??
The tall guy made his way to the back of the classroom and her eyes followed his every step. She never saw him before and he sounded like he had an American accent. She didn't think too much about it and put her head back on her desk.
"Would anyone like to answer this problem." Destiny didn't hear anything and she prayed that she wouldn't get called on. Her cramps are killing her and she was not in any mood to answer.
"Ok since no one wants to answer...how about you Ms. Jackson."
Her head flew up at the mention of her name. She had a feeling this was going to happen.
Even though she knew the answer, she didn't felt like answering.
"I don't know sir." Destiny said through gritted teeth.
"That's because you had your head on the desk." This guy was getting on Destiny's last nerve.
"Then why the bloody hell would you call on me if you knew I wasn't paying attention." The whole classroom went silent after that.
It was the first time Destiny has really ever spoken like that and her eyed widened at her sudden outburst.
"Detention." Was the only thing Mr. Micheals said before turning back to the board.
Destiny sat back down and groaned into her sweater. She could hear a booming laugh in the classroom but nobody made a sound. They were all focusing in class.
Destiny didn't care about the lesson. She only had one thing on her mind.
What the bloody hell was happening to me?
