And thank you so much to my dear AngieFrostSnowPrince for inspiring me to write this book♥
Narrator:
It is an Autumn cold night in Corona. We are in the dungeons of the Castle.
The prisoners try to get warm in their safe jails, except one:Varian.
He doesn't care about the cold, he can handle it, and so can his raccoon, Rudiger.
The animal is lying on Varian's lap, snoring softly. The boy is lying on his cold bed, while he looks at the ceiling and caress his loved pet. When they sent him to prision, the only thing that could calm him down was to caress his pet, but for the first time, it isn't working. He feels empty. He feels lost... He feels nothing.
He is stuck and he tries to find a way to scape. Yeah, he is in a jail, you know, but he is stuck emotionally too.
Every day and every nigh he wonders what he can do to find a way to set his dad free. No matter all the bad things that Varian has done, he is only a kid who wants his dad back, and you know, he also wants to take revenge towards the royal family.
It's been a week. A tear rolls down his face. He closes his eyes wishing to go back to the past. He opens his eyes a few seconds later, looks to the low left side of the door and thanks to the light of the Moon behind him he sees a pointy iron bar that seems to measure about 30 centimeters. He gasps knowing that it can be used to rip up the wood of the door. He smiles wickedly and then he whispers:
—The person that left that iron bar in there is a stupid genious —carefully, he puts his pet aside without waking him up and walks towards the iron bar, grabs it and softly starts to break the wood trying to don't make a sound.
{...}
He doesn't know the time it took but he is finally free.
—Eureka... —he smiles triumphant, holds Rudiger and leaves the jail making sure that the other prisioners are asleep.
Rapunzel:
I wake up gasping and sitting on my bed with an accelerated breathing, causing Pascal to jump as he makes his distinctive little scream. He falls next to me.
—Sorry, sweetheart —I say caressing his little head and trying to calm both of us down.
—Is everything okay? —asks Eugene rubbing his eyes.
—No —I answer, worried— I had a dream where Varian left the jail... But, I think that it was not a dream.
He looks at me as he opens his eyes and his mouth, surprised.
—W-what? You mean, you had a vision? —I nod— Then... We need to check if he left Corona's dungeons.
—Let's get ready and tell my parents, Cassandra and the guards.
Narrator:
Meanwhile, Varian managed to escape without being seen. He is holding Rudiger with a hand and with the other he holds the iron bar, just in case he needs it. He is walking towards the forest in the dark; the only thing that lights the way is the crescent Moon with a blue glow. Yes, crescent Moon with a blue glow.
—Hold on, we are almost there... I think —Varian says caressing his pet, who is on Varian's lap and holds himself to the neck of the boy—. We will save my dad, I promise.
