I raise my hand to knock on the wooden door in front of me, hesitating. The muscle-bound frame of the scruffy, auburn-haired man leans against the wall next to my raised hand. The Beta, I recall, Reed. Seeing my reluctance, the man raises one eye, mocking me. I paste a smile on and rap on the door twice.

Downstairs earlier, after Alec-hyung's admission, he then cleared the room. The werewolves were sent elsewhere and I was given some quiet time. Alec pulled the pocket door to the living room closed before leaving me alone. I slumped back down on the sofa and just felt exhausted.

With the panicked traveling to Shady Woods, the uproar at my arrival and then everything hyung revealed, I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep for a very long time. The events of the last hour kept running through my head, like a disjointed film strip.

I definitely felt like running away. I considered leaving hyung's crazy ass here and do just that. Except there's a part of me that wondered, what if he's not crazy?

I already saw Braden turn into a wolf with my own eyes. I could trust that much. Werewolves exist.

It's even believable that Alec is in love with that Christopher. Hyung's always loved animals.

It's the bond that Alec spoke of, not just for him but, supposedly for me too, that upsets me. It's just so unlike hyung. He's calm and steadfast. Running his own clinic was his lifelong dream. I understand that he met someone and has a relationship now, but I can't believe he can be smiling so comfortably with something so... I don't know, dangerous and outrageous.

Alec returned after some time. He handed me some water to sip and waited quietly next to me until I was ready to talk. I wasn't sure where to begin, but I knew I wasn't prepared to ask about what he'd told me concerning Braden. I had to clear my throat and sip some more water before I could start.

"Can you tell me, about Christopher and you?" I looked down into the glass instead of his face while speaking.

"Of course." I could hear his calm smile while he talked. "You already know when I moved here after purchases the clinic from the previous vet. Shortly after that, Chris dropped in."

"Due for his shots?" I mumbled under my breath. A harsh flick to my forehead got me looking over to see Alec smirking.

"No! As the Alpha, he makes sure to look into everyone that lives in the area or comes to visit, I just didn't know it at the time. After that, it seemed like he was always there, and let me tell you, it was annoying."

"Really? You didn't fall in love at first sight?"

"Definitely not. He's almost eight years younger than me and wouldn't stop flirting with me!" That did surprise me. I know that hyung doesn't look his age with his baby-face, but I wouldn't have suspected Christopher was so young.

"So, then what happened?" I'd already asked him about why he started dating a man, months ago. However, there seems to a lot more to the story.

"Well, I pushed him away for a while, of course. At first, I thought he was just messing me. When I realized he was sincere in pursuing me, I'd told him that I wasn't interested in men." He pauses and I can see the blush spread over his face.

"What's this? You were interested?"

"I hadn't been interested in men, but there was definitely something cute about his attempts at flirting." I'll admit, Christopher is probably pretty good looking for a man, but only Alec would call that giant 'cute'.

"What about being a w- werewolf, when did you find out? Was it before or after you started dating?" Alec paused and I could tell he was considering it.
