PRESENT DAYUNDISCLOSED WORLD SECURITY COUNCIL HUB
It was one of the most secure rooms left standing after the destruction of the Triskelion and the prime Helicarrier. And if one were of sufficient clearance to be permitted access to the projection room, they might describe it as standing in the midnight zone in the deep ocean. Dark shades of blue, ambient floating particles, one might expect a bizarre fish to swim by.
But like dim rays of light from the surface, several pillars of white were arrayed in a ring. Contained within, vague silhouettes of men and women formed of specified dark particles stared at each other like grim ethereal gods.

A man's voice spoke with a slight Texan drawl. "The monster in Wakanda, this... King Ghidorah, is everyone up to speed on the data Richards provided to SHIELD?"

Affirmative nods and mumbles all around, each delivered with foreboding tones.
"Then we are all aware that its presence here is a catastrophic threat, and requires the greatest means at our disposal to combat."

"Yes but..." A woman, her English dialect flavored by Japanese, seemed less certain. "Do you not think we should give Thor and the others more time before we resort to such... terrible ends?"

A younger male voice answered her. "We all appreciate the severity of what the consequences are before us. Otherwise, we would not even be discussing it. That fact remains however, that Wakanda was one of the most technologically advanced cities on the planet, and more than capable of defending itself against conventional threats. It didn't last an hour against King Ghidorah, and no weapon in their arsenal even made it flinch."

"Now Thor too has fallen." Came the Russian accent of a woman in her 50's.
Several other members were taken aback, the breaking news of the Asgardian champion settling any doubts that extreme measures were necessary.
"Wakanda has already been destroyed." The chairman continued. "And there's nothing we can do to save it now. But the longer we wait the more lives will be lost. We have to act now, while the damage can still be minimized."

"Minimized?" The Japanese woman was incredulous. "Is that how we're going to phrase it? Dropping a nuclear missile on a populated city and wiping out any survivors?"

But the chairman was adamant. "Should we wait then? Until more countries are laid to waste while we lament our horrible options? I vote we launch on King Ghidorah. All in favor?"

One by one, the hands went up, some after more thought than others. The last was the lithe woman who had initially protested, the savage logic of their decision too persuasive to be denied. Begrudgingly she was raising her hand when something out of view of the others caught her attention.

"What is it?" Another asked.

"It's... It's Godzilla, I can't believe it."

The artificial shapes of the others all betrayed the fact that they were checking their own sources, confirming the update on the monster that had started all of this.

The man with the Texan accent cleared his throat. "In light of this new information, I vote we suspend the nuclear option for the time being."

"Aye." Was the swift vote of all.

"How desperate are we?" The Russian said aloud. "To pin our hopes on such a terrible creature to defend us?"

No-one bothered to answer the question, as they all knew perfectly well.

ANOTHER REALM
"Thee should count thyself fortunate brother."

His eyes opened slowly, not just because of the pain racking his body, but also because Thor was confused by the particular sound of the voice.
