**************************

Dev was standing with quivering hands as he held the papers, never had he expected that life would throw such a curved ball at him. He looked at the papers he was holding once again in the hope that what was written on them was untrue, but he was met with nothing was disappointment & sadness as he read the papers again. He threw the papers on the bed as he slumped down against the wall while tears made way from his eyes, he hugged his knees hiding his face in them as he broke down into violent sobs.

Dev did not know for long he was crying when he heard a knock on the door of his room, he quickly got up and wiped his face, he could not let his family know about the papers that he had received this afternoon. Calming himself down he went towards the door and opened it only to be greeted by Riya who had a concerned look on her face.

"Bhaiya, Aap theek toh hai naa? Tina ne bataya ki aap aaj office se jaldi nikal gaye they" she asked as Dev smiled looking at the concern of his sister for him while he replied "Main theek hoon Riya, bas thoda sar dard kar raha tha iss liye jaldi wapas aa gaya. Tu aaj late ho gayi office se wapas aaney main?" he asked seeing that she was still in her office attire.

"Haan Bhaiya, Wo kal ek meeting hai. Ussi ki tayari kar rahi thi" she said as Dev smiled and caressed her hair, he was proud that his little sister had grown up and was making huge strides in the corporate world as Riya spoke "Waisey bhaiya, Maa Aapko neechey bula rahi thi dinner ke liye" she said as Dev replied "Riya, Maa se keh de ki main thodi der ke liye bahar jaa raha hoon, wahi kha loonga" he said as Riya nodded and turned to leave while Dev went to the washroom to freshen up. As he left Riya turned back to look at her brother as tears glistened her eyes. This was a common scene that happened in the last month and half. Dev would seldom have his dinner at home citing one reason or other, but she knew what he was going through. Though he never expressed in words no one missed the helplessness and sadness in his eyes. She just hoped that things would get better in her brother's life as she left for her room.

Fifteen minutes later Dev descended the steps just as Ishwari saw him from the kitchen "Dev..." she called out as he stopped hearing his mother as Ishwari came out of the kitchen "Ab kaisi tabiyat hai teri?" she asked as he replied "Main theek hoon Maa" he said as Ishwari caressed his cheeks while she spoke "Tu aaj bhi bahar khayega?" she asked as he nodded in agreement while Ishwari sighed sadly, she could see the pain and sadness in her son's eyes but it was up to him to come out of it on his own. After a few seconds Ishwari spoke once again "Dev, Tuney Sonakshi se baat ki?" she asked as Dev nodded his head negatively as he said "Nahi Maa, Wo mujhsey baat nahi karna chahti, lekin main koshish karta rahunga" he said as Ishwari nodded her head while Dev left as Ishwari went back to the kitchen.

Just as he was about to leave his vision fell on the Shiva idol placed in the temple room of Ishwari Niwas, he stared at the idol of the god while anger coursed through him as he fisted his palm as he muttered "Not this time...not this time..." as he went out and left in his car.

Half-an-hour later Dev was at a coffee shop, the same one where he and Sonakshi had spent innumerable hours talking about everything or anything. It was the same place to which they would sneak out in the night to spend some alone time, a place which held a lot of memories for them as Dev leaned back on the chair located at one of the corners of the shop, away from the crowd. He closed eyes as his thoughts went back to the happenings of the last two years in their married life.
