Alexa's POV

It took me a while to recover from that awful day at the mall. To say that I was surprise to see Justin would be an understatement. Humiliating him at the ice cream parlor wasn't enough. I felt bad for pushing Harry away but he's done much worse to me.

The school bell rang loudly, distracting me from my thoughts during algebra. I cradled my books in my arms while I made my way to my locker. I put it in the combination and began to rummage through the junk in my locker for my text book.

"Hey," a familiar voice spoke from beside me. I closed my locker door to meet with a pair of piercing green eyes.

"Hi Harry," I greeted lamely.

"Are you all right? You know, since you looked frazzled yesterday."

"Frazzled?" I held back a smile.

He blushed, ducking his head down. "For real though, are you all right?"

"Peachy, thanks for asking." I forced a smile, hoping it would be convincing.

"That's good news," he said.

"Yeah."

"So um, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight," Harry said nervously.

"I already have plans," I replied, hoping that I didn't sound too harsh.

"What plans?" He narrowed his eyes at me.

"Niall invited me to go to some party tonight."

"Oh. So Niall, huh?" he inquired.

"We're just friends," I clarified. I didn't really know if I wanted to be anything more with Niall. He's adorable and funny and thoughtful and all the qualities I look for in a guy, but what's holding me back?

"Oh."

"Yeah well, I'll see you later," I said before turning around and going towards my next class.

Along the way, I spotted Louis leaning against the lockers. He wore a red flannel and ripped skinny jeans.

"Hey Alexa!" he called out.

"What's up, Louis?" I grinned.

From behind his back, he revealed a single red rose. "For you," he said, smiling shyly.

I blushed uncontrollably, accepting the rose from his hand. "What's this for?"

"Just a little something." His cheeks flushed pink. I thanked him and stood on my tiptoes to kiss his cheek.

I waved goodbye, and finally arrived at my class, my legs wobbly and my heart bursting at the seams.
