chapter twenty three (real life)

"EVERYBODY GET YA MOTHAFUCKIN ROLL ON, I KNOW SHORTY AND SHE DOESN'T WANT A SLOW SONG," tessa and i scream as we drive to the restaurant to meet the boys.

"so, chloe," tessa starts, turning the music down a little.

"yeah?" i reply, as i keep my eyes on the road.

"well, we're going to be eating dinner with jonah..."

"yeah, we've hung out with him the past two days. it's all good."

"i know, i just wanna make sure. i just don't want ben to take it the wrong way and be sad or whatever."

"you? worried about ben's feelings?" i laugh. "that's unlikely."

"hey! it's true! even though that little asshole kinda hates me cause we're each other's favorite people, i still care about him."

"aw, sweet. you know he doesn't hate you."

"yeah yeah."

"jonah! you fucker! give me my phone back!" i exclaim, teaching across the table to grab my phone that jonah snatched out of my hands.

jonah laughs.

"mmm, how about no?" he replies.

i successfully take it, turning to corbyn.

"how do you live with him?" i ask, shaking my head.

corbyn bursts out laughing.

"i honestly don't know," corbyn replies.

"alright, what are we doing after we pay?"

"well, i don't know about the rest of you losers, but i wanna get ice cream," jack says.

"rude! but okay, i'm down," i say.

we ay for our dinner, then walk out of the restaurant.

the seven of us walk down the street, looking at various stores.

"dude, my feet are so tired from walking all day," i say.

"i can carry you if you'd like," jonah replies. "on my back."

"sure, why not?"

i jump into his back, securing my arms around his neck.

his hands come to my legs, making sure i don't fall.

"dude! get a picture of that!" i hear zach exclaim, and i turn around to see daniel taking pictures of jonah and i.

"daniel!" i yell.

he just laughs.

we walk around for a little while longer, get our ice cream, then head back to our cars.

"we'll see you guys soon!" tessa says.

"yeah, for sure! just text us whenever!" corbyn replies.
