chapter forty two

"hey, jonah?" i say, holding my phone up to my ear.

"yeah?" he replies.

"could you come over? tessa isn't here right now and i really need to talk to you."

"totally, i'll be over in 20 minutes."

i quickly open the door to reveal jonah standing there.

"hi," he says.

"hey, jo," i reply.

"wow. you haven't called me that since we were dating," jonah remarks.

"yeah, um, can we sit? i really need to talk to you about something important."

the two of us sit down.

"so, what's up?" jonah asks.

"okay, so. when we were dating, i had never been happier. that was the best year of my life. then, when ben and i started dating, i was like, wow, life could not get any better. i thought that ben and i would last. but, the thing is, i think breaking up with ben was a good thing, because it made me realize that he's not the one i should be with. i realized that there is only one guy that i really, truly love. jonah, i love you."

jonah smashes his lips onto mine, and i kiss back.

after awhile, i pull away.

jonah and i stand up, and he pulls me into a hug.

i wrap my arms around his neck, and he wraps his arms around my waist tightly.

"i've waited so long to hear you say those words again," jonah whispers.

"i love you jonah."

"i love you chloe."

the two of us stand in the middle of my living room, holding each other tightly.

the door opens, and tessa and the others boys walk in.

the five of them look at us.

"are we interrupting something?" jack asks.

"no, no you're fine," i smile, pulling away from jonah's arms.

"so, uh, what's going on?" tessa asks.

i lace my hand in jonah's, looking up at him.

"well, if jonah is okay with it, i'd like to introduce you to my boyfriend," i say.

"i'm very much okay with it," jonah smiles.

"wait, you guys are together?" zach asks.

"yeah," jonah says.

"this is the best day ever!" jack exclaims.

"finally, i have been waiting for you two to get back together for so long!" corbyn yells.

"we should go out and celebrate this," daniel suggests.

"yes! let's go get dinner!" zach replies.

the seven of us all sit around a table at the restaurant.

jonah, myself, jack and daniel sit on one side, and across from us are tessa, zach and corbyn.

jonah holds my hand under the table, pressing kisses to my forehead.

"hey, guys, can i say something?" i ask.

"yeah, go ahead," tessa replies.

everyone looks at me, waiting for me to speak.

"i just want to say that i love you all. so much. you guys are my family, and i wouldn't be where i am without you. thank you for everything you've done for me."

"we love you too," corbyn says, and everyone nods in agreement.

jonah presses a kiss to my cheek, and i smile.

"i love you," he whispers in my ear, causing me to smile even bigger.
