Lydia had only agreed to come with Jackson to the video store if he actually bought them a film that was worth watching but the whole way there Jackson was trying to convince her to let them watch Hoosiers, who he claimed was the best basketball movie. Lydia had no interest in basketball and she definitely had not interest in Gene Hackman and Fennis Hopper who Jackson seemed to love so much.

Lydia wanted to watch a movie she would actually enjoy.

"No," she told him again. "Lydia, I swear to God you're going to like it," he told her and she turned her head towards him. "No."

"I am not watching The Notebook again," Jackson told her and Lydia quirked her brow. She leaned over and whispered something softly in his ear. He groaned and got out of the car, grumbling under his breath as he walked into the video store. Lydia smiled triumphantly to herself as she took out her phone just when it rang to see her sister's name on it.

"Hey sis. Do you need something?" Lydia asked Layla. It had been a few days since Lusi and her daughter had been at their house and luckily they haven't returned but Layla was still avoiding talking about them and she was avoiding their mom throughout the house. Lydia unfortunately had to be their middle man for these couple of days.

"I was going to call for you two to get some snacks but I'm hust waiting on the two of you to hurry up with the movie," Layla said as she lied down on her bed. The girl was still surprised that Lydia had been able to convince her to watch a movie with Jackson in the room.

Lydia looked out the window with a sigh.
"Jackson just went into the store to go find The Notebook," Lydia told Layla over the phone while she played with her hair. "How the hell did you manage to get him to say yes?" Layla asked knowing how Jackson didn't like The Notebook at all.

"I have my ways," Lydia said with a smirk on her lips. "You threaten to not have sex with him, right?" Layla asked, cringing and Lydia chuckled, humming.

"I've got to go, sis. I just got another call. See you later," Layla told her sister and Lydia hummed, "Okay."

Lydia looked in the mirror to see that the lighting was perfect. She should take a few shots because she didn't know when she'd get such perfect lighting again. Lydia started taking pictures, posing to her phone. The girl let out a high-pitched scream when a huge creature jumped throw the glass of the store and past the car.

Layla fell down on her knees holding her hands on her ears when she heard the scream echoing through her ears. Her eyes were squeezed closed as she tried to get rid of the stinging in her ears.
